Default 2025 MLB Tokyo Series Product

Looks like they are milking the Tokyo Series by partnering with popular artist, Takashi Murakami.

1. Murakami inspired merchandise.
2. Murakami 2025 Topps Series 1 exclusive variations. I assume they will have normal base cards, but some Murakami variations. This looks like it'll only be sold in Japan.
3. Murakami x Topps set. This will be sold on Complex.com for those of us in the US on March 7th.

You could say that about every Project 2020 and Project 70 and Project 100 artist. But there are people that love those cards. I'm sure he'll make some interesting designs

I think the #2 is just "Series 1 Tokyo Series Mega Box" and have no relation with Murakami.
All Murakami variations are part of Murakami x Topps set, is my understanding.

Anyways, while March 1st in Japan is the official release date of "Series 1 Tokyo Series Mega Box", they are now taking pre-orders (it's still Feb 28th over there too).
Limit 6 per order, and per account.
If you live in US (or most of outside of Japan), unless you use a re-shipper, the shipping cost is going to be enormous.

A little too cartoony looking for me but I'm sure they will sell just fine.

First time I can recall seeing checklist info in the NYT!

I'm already in for 6 boxes including the expensive shipping.

Yeah shipping is almost as much as the boxes themselves, not sure I can do it.

I have a feeling that these will go for quite a bit more on the secondary market so ultimately, I think it'll be cheaper.

Ultimately, I just want a base set. I'm betting with each box having a complete one I should be able to find one fairly cheap eventually. If anyone is parallel and insert hunting and wants to unload one, let me know. I'll try to snag a few on release but won't freak out if they go in seconds.

I see 16 packs of 14 cards per box. Are we sure there will be a complete set in each box? I'd almost prefer some sort of random collation.

I think he was talking about the Murakami set, available only on Complex, which is a complete set and one parallel.

These are two different products.
There is the Murakami Toko Series Set going on sale next week.
And then 2025 Series 1 - Japan Tokyo Series Edition boxes

Yep. That's the one I'm after. Hopefully I'll just be able to snag one without the bots going crazy but I've seen this promoted quite a few places so I'm betting there is a bit of a frenzy.

The Tokyo Nights cards in the Tokyo Series boxes are amazing. I'm hoping they are one a box and not case hits or harder so they'll be halfway affordable.

There also appears to be a retail box (20 packs)
