Default 2025 Topps Now MLB

Looks like the new designs are up:

New Parallel Chase Cards
The chase has never been better! Starting in new 2025 brands, Topps NOW parallels will now feature premium foil technology and an all-new parallel numbering and color format; /50 Gold, /25 Orange, /10 Black, /5 Red, and 1/1 FoilFractors.

Chrome Chase Cards
Brand new in 2025, ultra-rare Chrome and Opal Chrome pattern Topps NOW® parallels will unlock for cards with large print runs at specific tiers as additional lucky hits:

50,000+ Print Run: Look for Chrome parallels /99 and /50 + lower parallel structure.

100,000+ Print Run: Look for Chrome parallels /25, /10, /5 and 1/1 SuperFractor + lower parallel structure.

250,000+ Print Run: Look for Opal Chrome parallels /50, /25, /10 and /5 + lower parallel structure.

500,000+ Print Run: Look for 1/1 White OpalFractor Chrome + lower parallel structure.

Based on last year - there shouldn't be too many that qualify for the chrome parallels. That said, if the "look for autos" trend continues, that number may be a bit more common.

Sasaki/Ohtani dual auto hunts might get ridiculous ... I don't play that game and frankly miss the set amount for a set auto ... I mean the old days where you could just buy the color parallel by paying through the nose.

I actually don't mind the auto/relic chase idea. The problem is that there are so few for the higher price.

If they kept the price point of base the same as five years ago, implemented the chase aspect, the PR still would've risen - and possibly more than last year's structure - especially if there were about 50-100 to chase instead of 10-16.

As it stands from last season, the 16 or so chase cards for the extra several bucks per card dissuades someone like me from buying cool images and non-PC guy milestones. It's definitely geared to try and optimize gambling tendencies but I'm not sure there are enough gamblers in collecting to sustain last year's structure for much longer. Only time will tell.

I fear this year's new upgrades will increase prices even more without providing enough ROI, yet again, making it even less likely for collectors to buy while making TN even more heavily dependent on the gambling population.

It's disappointing to see the changes in this set since the mid-point last year. Topps Now is what started getting me back into collecting after about an 8 year hiatus so it does have extra meaning for me. The relic/autos are some of my favorite cards in my collection.

While I was skeptical when they initially went to the format on the relic/autos where you buy it with a random chance of getting the lower numbers; I feel like the prices didn't inflate too much and I actually got a couple lower numbered ones I never would have bought (I only ever bought the /99) so it actually became even more fun. It still felt like a collector's product where you could get what you wanted and maybe get even a rarer parallel.

Then last year they added some /125 which I wasn't a fan of. When they went fully to buy the card at a higher price and maybe you get a relic/auto I knew it was over for me. That truly shifted it from a collector's product to a gambler's product. Glad I got the Yordan cycle auto which I think was one of the last cards that wasn't just a "maybe you get it". With what they're doing this year I feel they are just trying to get the gamblers to buy even more cards so they can have a chance at more parallels. I feel like the demand won't be there except for Ohtani, Judge and maybe Soto and/or Roki?

The iconic 2016 Bryzzo dual auto relic came up for eBay auction and ended 2 days ago.
It was the base version (/99), with grade being PSA 9 (which isn't terrible given its thickness).
The final sale price was $3,067 which I believe shows how popular that card still is.

I don't know if there will ever be any other World Series moment going forward that creates such great chemistry with Topps Now.

Yes that is an iconic card from the Kick Off of Topps Now.

Does anyone remember there being an Ichiro relic card from his 3000th hit game?

I seem to think so.

Are they doing a Spring Training or Opening Day set like they have in the past?

Yeah just a base relic though - no auto. I remember being pretty disappointed for such a historic milestone.

I saw something last week stating they were doing the Road to Opening Day sets and they would come out sometime in March. Now I can't find where I saw that. I would image pre-sale is going to start this or next week.

Looking at the '24 thread, RTOD went on sale Tuesday 3/19. The auto packs were gone in less than 35 minutes.

Sounds like it might not be for another 2 weeks then. For some reason I thought I remembered them being in earlier March. I feel like they do a lot of Tuesday releases for pre-sale so maybe the 18th this year?

Maybe but I would still keep a close eye on Topps because you never know what they'll do.

Thanks to all. I couldn't think of Road to Opening Day. Appreciate all the responses.

Yeah but should still be going for decent money I would think now that he is in the hall and I see zero on the bay.

I've been debating on getting the SD football club cards cause there's only a couple so far and easy to keep up, but I'll definitely pick up this Manny.

This product is not what it once was. And it is now a lottery.

The short numbered print cards to be do nothing for future value.

Don't know how I missed all these communication till this point, but yes they did make relic cards for Ichiro's 3,000 hits.
And yes, I own the rainbow!

Learned my final lesson on ToppsNow last year.

With the price increase, even if I am chasing a parallel its still cheaper to buy the single than to order packs of 10 or more cards since the gambling aspect blows up print runs and no single base holds any value these days.

I'll buy a single base if my team has a key moment I want, but the bulk buying days are over for me and that include the RTOD sets.

It's really unfortunate but any Topps Now product that reads "LOOK FOR AUTO(S)" at the end of the title should be avoided like the plague.
