Arrow Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Series One (Cardsmiths; Q2 2025)

Haven't seen this posted yet, so excited to share this. Looks like a new Buffy set is coming out later this year according to the latest NSU. Here's your first look at what the box will look like, and just like other Cardsmiths releases.. 2 packs per box with 5 cards per pack.

I love Buffy, but haven't we already gotten all we're gonna get from this franchise? Inkworks released an extensive amount of autographs and relics, and even a super rare "piece of Buffy's prop stake" card. Then years later Rittenhouse released some major signers that were missing from the previous sets like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan and Seth Green; plus rare sketch cards. Now with yet another trading card release for Buffy, are we going to get anymore signed cards or relics or anything 1/1? Or will this just be fun collector cards with cool designs/features? Regardless, I'm excited to see what will be included and definitely considering buying at least a box or two once I see exactly what's available in the set.

Would anyone else be interested in this release if there are no autograph/relic/sketch cards included?.. especially considering those have been available before.

Interesting...

Jury is out on the Cardsmiths' format.

Dragon's Lair was the first set they'd done with autos, and they autos seem to be case hits, cases being 48 2-pack boxes.

Not sure how many will chase at that rate.
They also do some crazy stuff with short prints. Quality products, I just hope they don't short-print themselves out of collector's budgets.

I'm interested in their Wednesday cards but its been forever since the Comic-Con preview cards and no news on a main release.

Few smaller guest actors I'd want autos from but doubt there's interest in them - Buffy's fandom does tend to want just the main cast.

I have a James Marsters auto card from Angel, rather than Buffy, from Inkworks 2001.

Joss Whedon tanked any good will and many fond memories moving forward, yes? He did for me. The show had a time and place and high peak but looking back it's hard to feel the experience aged well and I can't get excited for any additional merchandising around it.

I didn't want to say anything but I fear the details of Whedon's abhorrent behavior have definitely tarnished the reputation of the show. That said, if there are autos and big names signing, the set may do well enough.

Based on the one preview card in NSU (other than the picture of the box) I wouldn't hold out much faith that we'll have anything signed in this set.. or even relics or sketches.. but I guess it's too early to rule anything out. I'm excited to see what will be included.

It isn't new info but it's come out that he's quite a poor collaborator.
