Default What to do with 109 autographed baseballs

My brother in law collected autographed baseballs. He got them all in person over many years. He’s kept them in individual cubes for display purposes. They moved houses and he’s decided to part with the collection and asked my advice. I have no clue. I’ve only dealt with sports cards and not autographed memorabilia.

The signers range from Mantle, Banks, Berra, Mays all the ways to Denny Neagle and Rob Dibble.

Do you think he should get them all authenticated and then try to move them?

Open to any advice.

Thanks!

Definitely spend some time on eBay. There are probably some not worth authenticating based on sale prices (I'm assuming Neagle and Dibble wouldn't cover the cost/shipping), but the big names 100% need to be authenticated.

Start with anyone dead. Get those authenticated. Then ebay is as good as any to sell.

Exactly this. There are even HOFers that it wouldn't make sense to spend money on authentication because the ebay value is too low.

picking out which ones are worth authenticating (>75 or >100). Then trying to find a good deal on authentication (diff prices for some guys), i was able to find $10 per for beckett thru a guy on fb last yr but if all same just do psa.. then listing each on ebay with slightly higher than comps and taking offers on them is definitely the way to go even if u dont get to sell all of them.. just have to be bit patient, there's less demand for balls then certified auto cards but sometimes u do get better more for niche names
