Default Would You Grade This Gold Refractor?

Looking for some opinions. I have no intention of ever selling it, however I figured it would make sense to grade before it possibly hulked. If I thought it would 10 I guess I'd have to submit it, but without biasing opinions and saying why it probably wouldn't 10 I figured I'd just seek opinions.

Thank so much for everyone who takes the time.

really have to check for print lines on cards like that in low light, the centerings a tiny bit off but if the corners are sharp and surface isnt flawed theyd easily 10 it with some upcharges of course.

Yes, if it were me, I would grade it even if you are just keeping it.

I would grade it.

Then when PSA grades it a 6 since it's a Kobe card, I would be upset, crack it out, resubmit it and then grade it again and get a PSA 8.

Thanks for the responses guys. Im a little worried about grading it because as you can see it is off center some, and in a weird way, not just LR but kinda diamond. Seems like they could give it a 7 just cause like you mentioned. And if I'm not selling it does the grade matter anyway.

But like I said if its gonna hulk I'd rather grade it before that.

Any opinions on grade? I know its hard to tell from just pics. Was hoping to get a few more opinions from people who deal with grading more than I do. Thanks a lot.

Also I've tried cracking a card the one time I did get stuff graded and it did not go well. Haven't at all been able to replicate what I see people do.

The centering is not that bad by PSA standards

If that gets a 6 or 7 it wont be just because of centering. Look at corners and surface closer.

what's that spot in the lower right edge? Yes you grade it but even if you're not selling it now, you may someday and even if it is a lower grade than desired you'll still do better than trying to sell a card like this raw, especially online. Skeptics will be in full force and lowball it to no end.

I mean this card is big enough that even with a poor grade, it just makes the card more liquid. It gets any debate over the condition of the card out of the way.

Definitely worth preserving in a slab. Go for it!

Then both hope and fear the upcharge email if grading with PSA.

A card like that is always worth grading

All the "if it's not a 10 it burns my eyes" dorks in this hobby are funny asf

Look at corners and surface closer meaning you see something? I've put a flashlight on it and it looks pretty good to me. Corners look sharp as well.

On the edge im assuming you dont mean the red spot? Thats refracting light. I dont really see much on the lower right edge, could just be the way the light hit something.

Thanks for all the opinions. I think next time there is a drop off locally I'll have them do it.

Good chance it gets a 9, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

EZ yes to grading.

EZ PSA-9.

However, 10% chance at PSA-6.

Good luck!

No, just general advice. Dont worry so much about centering.

Thanks so much for all the opinions. I think I will get it graded when I see the next local drop off.

For those wondering it got a 7. Some edge wear on the back of the card that I see in some pictures but donÂ’t see in others. Oh well.

PSA 7 is better than a raw

You mean for this specific card, not in general right? What makes you say that? Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
