Default What was the first World Series you remember watching/listening to?

Mine was coincidentally Dodgers versus Yankees in 1981.

Unfortunately the '86 Red Sox-Mets....
I still have a recording of local radio news update saying congratulations to the Red Sox who were about to win their first title since 1918.

1984. I was really young, but it was memorable because one of my family members "borrowed" a lot of money from the bank he worked at to bet on the Cubs making the World Series.

Vaguely remember the 1986 Mets. Think my parents were curious about baseball and often watched it on TV. Oddly enough the first one I really remember was 1992 Blue Jays.

I have memories of the 77 & 78 Yankees/Dodgers showdowns, but the first one I really remember watching thoughout was the 1979 Pirates/Orioles matchup won by Pittsburgh even though they were down 3 games to 1 early on.

86 Mets.

As an Astros fan, I was actively rooting for the Red Sox.

There was no escape from the 86 time period. My ex's dad had been a diehard Mets fan and even agreed that Buckner error didn't make any difference, the pitching of the Red Sox had fallen apart on hitting the proper zones to raise chase rates/Ks. It does get mildly funny, during my middle school era had a Tom Glavine card in my sci calculator before the peak WS era Braves behind the user manual which nobody outside of several friends looked behind it. Back in the day I crunched bat swing angles to strike zones in math class... nobody had a clue what I had been tapping on about.

Me too. I was 9 and remember baseball games before that, but that was the first World Series I specifically remember. I remember the Yanks got crushed and Goose Gossage beamed Ron Cey and "shattered" his helmet?

Growing up in South Jersey, it was the 1980 World Series with the Phillies.

1992, Blue Jays/Braves

I was five years old, my brother (born in Toronto) was 10, and had every game on the TV. He then received the official VHS Highlight Tape for Christmas, and we watched it together probably 100 times.

1977 -- The Reggie 3 homer game. I was hooked on baseball after that. While I was a Cubs fan, I rooted for the Yankees in the WS in 77 and 78. Fond memories watching the games with my mother....she was a Dodgers fan.

47 years later I will watch this one with fond memories. Mom will be 87 this year and her dementia won't allow us to share this one together. But for me it will hold a special meaning.

I will probably lean towards the Yanks but honestly, I don't think it will matter to me who wins it.

1977 Reggie! Reggie! Reggie! The three homer series-clinching game was the one I remember most.

‘91 braves/twins. My last name is Lemke so it was super cool to hear Mark Lemke’s name throughout that series (less so for the errors, more for the clutch hits).

1969 miracle Mets. My sister was a big Mets fan and 4 years older than me. I being only 8 didn’t really have an alliance to any team. I enjoyed them winning being in New York but fortunately my Uncle Frank taught me about the Yankees history and saved me from rooting for a red headed stepchild.
