Less than 60 seconds for OSB, I'm impressed.

Well technically you could only answer once, but yes they COULD do that. I'm just curious what the oldest working ages are for the people on BO, does anyone work with someone who is 70 or older?

I'm just giving you a hard time.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I work remotely and I'm not sure the ages of everyone I work with.

Yes, some over 70. One guy high up is mid 80s and still comes in every day. He has his wits still, he’s not milking it.

Mid 80s, holy sht. Every day meaning 5 days a week? That seems utterly insane to me (but obviously my views on work in general differ from the general population.) What does he do? Do you ever have a chance to talk with him about why tf he is still working?

You enjoy your work though, right? It wouldn't be something done out of necessity I'm assuming? Also, can I assume the job isn't very physical? Like I could see an author still "working" in their 70s, but I wouldn't really consider that a real job either.

He’s got his hands in finance, operations, everything. He comes in every damn day. Covid was the only time he wasn’t physically in the office. He would die if he retired, he’d have nothing else to do. I’ll check my email and have stuff from him at all hours, 4am to 9pm.

No, people love to work here for some reason. Most of the older people have been here for 35+ years. I won’t be sticking around that long, that’s for damn sure.

That is so wild to me. I have no reason to believe you're f'n with me, but 12 people over 70 is so unbelievable (to me.) Do these people plan to retire or just die at the office? I guess I'm making assumptions they even work in an office, what type of work do they do?

One of my former managers retired at 82 that was about 12 years ago. To my knowledge she still alive and kicking although I heard she's in hospice care with dementia

The great part of that is that it doesn't really matter. Compared to some of my coworkers I'm eminently sane and rational.

That reason probably isn't you, I'll venture.

I am by far the youngest person at my work. Most should probably retire.
