Image released by BO...doesn't look like this year’s 18 pack box has a guaranteed mini auto. Auto odds say 1 in 23. Betting the release price will be higher too.

Baseball base framed autos are 1 in 23. Factor in the non baseball autos and the autos /5 and silver vs black frame and it brings it down to 1 in 18 or even a tad better.

I've never liked Allen & Ginter, but Allen & Ginter X is one of the coolest looking cards out there. The black cards are so sharp and I love the silver autographs. The regular set is just boring looking.

I don’t think that can be correct. Maybe the posted odds are screwy. Wouldn’t be the first time Topps messed up.

Looking forward to seeing how Fanatics destroys this product with price increase and worse odds.

Was one of my favorite opens last year. I'm realistic on how they will nickel and dime it this year like everything else.

Odds look fairly similar to last year for non autos and unless they messed up the odds looks like autos fall more often. There’s also chrome X inserted.

I agree they’re going to increase price more than likely.

I think it was $179 in 2021 and that was a disaster. Sure it sold out but collectors got screwed and the boxes still don’t sell aftermarket for that much.

This year I’m guessing $99-119. Hopefully not. But it was ok at $99 in 2020. It’s not like there are tons of homeruns. Lots of value as in lots of cards that will pay for a box or two. But $1000 cards are hard to come by.

What I do like is due to low print runs, even some base cards have value.

Yes and no.

The products are packed differently also.

For Ginter X:

-no inserts
-no rip, coin, cloth, relics etc.
-only base, mini, red mini/5, silver mini /1
- historically an auto per box
-autos can be varying numbers and except for 2020, are done in silver sharpie on the black background. Since 2019 there have also been gold autos /5.
-Before anyone incorrectly brings it up for the billionth time, there are NO guaranteed “special” minis in each box. For 2024 per stated odds by Topps there will be a red mini /5 falling one per 2.88 boxes and a silver 1/1 mini falling around one per 16 boxes.
-most I’ve ever bought in one year is 8 boxes with some years as few as 2 boxes since 2016. I’ve bought 39 total boxes and pulled, among others:

2016 Bryce Harper auto
2017 didi Grigorius silver 1/1
2018 Bo Jackson, Lindsey Vonn, Gleyber Torres autos, 1/1 silver mini Phil Coyne
2019 Fernando Tatis Gold auto /5, Jacob Degrom Silver auto and gold auto /5, random silver 1/1
2020 Mike Trout blue Auto, Shohei Ohtani gold auto /5
2021 - Let’s not discuss this one. I got a little back out of pretty good red minis /5 and a silver mini/1
2022 - Barry Larkin gold auto /5, Mark McGwire silver mini /1, almost all the rest $30-50 autos one of which I worked out a deal with Ian Grushka for cash and trade for his own card.
2023 -5 Wemby base, one sent off which graded 10, Kodai Senga and Tristan Casas and Sarah Natochenny were the bigger autos.

Keep in mind that the above list doesn’t include minis which I always sell off, base that become valuable such as judge, Ohtani, and cryptocurrency(sold a base for $750), as well as probably 20 red minis and even a few other goodies over the years. It’s just a very fun product and while I’ve done well(just the Tatis gold auto, Ohtani gold auto, and Crypto put me in the red on all purchases I’ve made total over the years), I’ve seen others do much better. I don’t even know what a 2018 Ohtani auto goes for.

didnt Fanatics "sell out" of the presale of this years plain ginter at 125?

surely they see X as a premium version of plain Ginter, no?

Well…it’s not at all a premium product. 18 packs vs Ginter hobby at 24 packs. No inserts, relics, stained glass, Rip, cloth etc like regular A&G.

As to the sell out, no one knows how many were listed AND a lot of the newer money in the hobby is super ignorant. Want to know how ignorant? Follow Sprts Card Nonsense on Facebook. Ever wonder why fake cards ever get sold? You’ll find you answer rather quickly. Some of the people that post there are unbelievable naive and dumb.

Finally, it’s a niche product. It doesn’t have a huge collector base and if you browse eBay you will see lots of autos from this product that have been sitting for one to eight years because they are overprices but someone unfamiliar with the product thinks they struck gold. Also keep in mind Topps lowered the price in 2022 all the way down from $179 in 2021 to $69 in 2022, despite Jrod, Witt Jr, and Wander all being hot rookies at the time. And they kept it there last year too.

Another niche product this year…Heritage mini…was only $50 indicating that Fanatics doesn’t always price stuff to the moon. Occasionally they are capable of the ol hawk tuah and a good old fashioned reach around.

On BLOWOUTCARDS IG page yesterday.

Last year's box it said "One Mini Autograph Per Box"...unless the BO image is not the final box cover (it only says "Look for"), I get the feeling there's no guarantee for an auto.
