Seller protections are in place, including protecting your account from late shipment defects. I would not cancel any orders.

If your business is impacted, eBay will automatically protect your seller performance, including:

Your Late Shipment Rate (LSR) defects
Your valid tracking upload rate
Item Not Received (INR) cases due to late delivery along with any Negative or Neutral Feedback if you uploaded tracking before the case was opened and have a physical scan from the carrier

Both eBay and your customers are going to understand the situation.

Yeah, I haven't been able to ship anything out either due to the storm. We are slowly getting power back here, but shipping eBay stuff isn't priority on my list right now.

Be safe up there, I know Western NC got hit hard. My mom cried when she say Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, those are her favorite places and her and my dad wanted to retire there.

I think eBay is very understanding with natural disasters, they will likely blanket remove dings on metrics and negs, not that any buyer should be leaving them.

I think you did the right thing by allowing the buyer to retain the transaction if they’re willing to wait, as a buyer I would appreciate that vs an outright cancel. It might be worth getting on the phone with eBay when it’s finally possible for you, and explain the situation.
