Do you support the public release of police bodycam videos?

I wonder how many old episodes of Cops would get said officers fired/suspended now.

I am a cop. We do not have body cameras yet but It they are on the way. Most of us fully support it as it protects us from frivolous claims of abuse and such. Believe it or not, most of us don’t abuse our authority.

Every now and then you’ll get a supervisor that is irrational or looking to climb the promotion ladder, but in general, most have our backs and know the BS we have to navigate.

Agreed. I was one for almost 28 years before retiring. Body cams were on the way and I was fortunate to not be involved in many confrontational situations.

Honestly the toughest part of having the body cameras is keeping everyone from making stupid d*ick and poop jokes close to the mic. Cops, for the most part, have the sense of humor of a teenager.
