Looks like a fun break. Love seeing basketball back in Topps Chrome. Just sucks know you spent ~$2,500, had a decent break, and didn't come even close to money back

Are you serious? The wemby redemptions are selling around 3-3.5k Idid really well. The helix is $250+ I easily made my money back when I sold the wemby before leaving the shop for 3k.

Because I value the opinion of others. I like to hear if people think it was good or not in their own eyes.

Everyone values things differently, so I enjoy hearing what people think. The problem with this forum is people make snap judgments and decisions.

Everyone immediately jumps to monetary return to vindicate or condemn a break. Sometimes we forget this was a hobby we started as a kid. I'm not in it to make money if I'm able to sell items to fuel the next opening then great. If not no worries.

I hope to entice conversation by asking people what they think. I was merely pointing out a common misconception here. People assume non licensed products have no value. This is a fallacy. There is plenty value across all types of things and products.

I shared the break so that people could see what a 5 box sample was. The other 7 boxes in the case were nowhere near as good(they were used in a random team break (6) and 1 personal). I bought these under the assumption that something was lurking. I'm happy I did. It could have easily been a bloodbath.

I post a ton of breaks here so that people can see sample sizes. Sometimes they are really good, and sometimes they are not lol.

One of the other members here said it best if you pull monsters from a product you love it. If you get skunked, it's terrible.

Sorry for the long read. I just wanted to elaborate on why I like hearing what people think, good or bad.

Yeah but calm down, just because he didn't know what Wemby auto redeptions are going for doesn't make him some pitchfork villager looking to condemn everyones break. You sold one card, made money, and kept a bunch of more valuable cards. You obviously know you did very well. What are we supposed to say, ah you didn't hit a color Wemby auto it wasn't that good? I wish I could sink that kind of money into a wax bust that has maybe a 10% chance of being close to what you paid for it. If you hadn't hit the Wemby auto would you be asking what others thought or would you know you got hosed already?

Congrats on the break though, not sure what kind of long term value these will have though so I'm only buying small amounts myself.

I wasn't jumping up and down. And as I've state before I post breaks and have for 15 years good or bad. I would have gladly posted one if I didn't hit the wemby auto.

All you have to do is look at the many breaks I post and see where people lambaste me for spending my money, and have had some rough damn breaks on here lol. It's OK though.

I really didn't mean to sound pissy, which I realized I did based on the text I typed. It was tough to convey that inflection. It was more of a disbelief thing, but I did a terrible job describing it. That is totally my fault.

I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to be able to open as much wax as I do. But I built up bankroll opening and selling products mcdonald's chrome all American to be able to buy into these type of products now. I kind of like obscure things to open and this is right up my alley.

To piggyback of your thought. I'm not sure how the long term value will hold. IMO some cards look really good. ( I personally like the youthquakes) a bunch are hideous lol. That's why I sold that auto right away. I think in 2026 when tops has the license these cards will lose value as those will be the most sought after.

I took a chance and it paid off this time. I have had it backfire more often than not lol. I honestly am churning through stuff right now until mcdonald's chrome drops again and I can chase Cooper flagg.

Anyway nice break, unlike others I took "what do you think" as of the cards not monetary return. The best looking cards without licensing imo are the Lively auto, Wallace auto and Youthquake. The Jaquez is cool but really gives me "unlicensed Color Blast" vibes lol and other than sepia the "negative" refractors are some of the ugliest refractors I've ever seen but that's with any sport not just this.

I always enjoyed break threads as it gives a sample of products I may be interested in or can't afford but am still interested in. I thought they died because cards dropped so much that not many are ripping anymore, but this thread shows why people don't share breaks on here.

If you choose not to post future breaks it's understandable but know some of us do appreciate it weatherwarrior
