Default Football set identification

Any idea where these cards came from? Pretty sure it's from a game or something like that. I'm usually good with this, but can't quite figure them out.

I've never seen these. Maybe hand cut from somewhere? Pic of the back will tell us everything.

The backs are plain brown. Sorry I did not include. Glad I'm not the only one stumped.

I have not seen these before. I would be interested in the Bill Brown or any other Viking players you have of these.

Assuming these are cardboard and not magazine paper, I would think they came from some type of board game. Coleco made some NFL football games and issued some similar black framed "cards" that had a numbering scheme and photos used for Sports Illustrated posters.

A couple interesting notes is that Jerry Philbin is actually spelled Gerry Philbin and Tom Matte played his entire career for the Baltimore Colts - yet it appears he's in an Oilers or Dolphins uniform.

I would guess that they are from 1968 to 1971...

Thanks for sharing!

The plain back makes me think hand cut? I just don't know from where.

These are on standard vintage cardstock? Or no?

Edit: reverse image doesn't recognize these. Maybe post this in the vintage thread - someone there might have the eagle eye you need.

Will do. I bought these and will have them in hand next week. Will make another post. I noticed the Matte on the wrong team as well.

I also searched coleco games and couldn’t see card cutouts in the game photos. The mystery continues! It does appear to be cardboard.

The cards are from the 1970 Coleco game. There are quite a few different covers. The cover that is mainly black with Len Dawson, Charley Taylor and others on the cover has the cards. There is one for sale on Craigslist in Mesilla NM that you can see the cards on the side panel.
