2023/2024 Panini delays

Hey guys, I was curious as to whether anyone knows what's going down with the Panini delays, especially in regards to Optic which has been pushed back several times the in place of Select which is also TBD now?

We're seeing the new season products being announced now too with Draft Picks, Score and Luminance.

As we know Fanatics is also releasing their own hobby possibly with Chrome, Motif, Royalty and Composite Football (Chronicles Type Release).

Not at all, this is just what is currently solicited to accounts. Stuff gets added all the time, nearly every week new product solicits come in.

23 still has Contenders Optic, NT, Flawless, Encased, and Chronicles yet to solicit

Exactly right. Beat me to it.

When Panini released a similar list in January, regular Contenders wasn't listed. Ditto for Select. Products are just added to that list when they're officially announced.

Granted, that doesn't mean NT is definitely coming out. It just means it hasn't been formally announced and, at this point, we don't yet know -- at least based on the list -- what isn't being released. Which is stupid. But it's Panini, so you know ...

No offense to anyone who's put money into pre orders but Panini can burn in hell and anything terrible that happens to them is warranted 1000 times over.

Been widely talked about on here, but they've had significant printing delays and no signs of that being able to pick back up any time soon. This is probably the new norm until Fanatics takes over.

Fanatics has significantly delayed their printing production.

It’s not Panini’s decision to not put out products, it’s Fanatics torpedoing them.

And who can’t wait for Fanatics to stop gutting the hobby so it can bless us with a glorious 10x.

Anyone know what the 2023 status of these releases are as far as released / announced / unannounced / cancelled?

Nothing has been canceled, I don't think. The NFL deals require a certain high amount of sets to be released each year, so I don't think Panini can even cancel sets in any real way. This could even be a heavy handed ploy by Fanatics to put Panini in breach of their contract, but that is probably too blunt and obvious even for them.

As for the large list posted above, I think the only one we haven't and won't see is Honors because it isn't annual.

Let’s face it, any of Panini high end products are not worth it without autographs of the top players. Of course they will sell out, but not having autos should be a death sentence for high end no matter how many cleaver parallels they insert.

Yes and no. It seems to be driving 'SP' parallels to a premium. Stroud Prizm Color Blast (Pop 24 PSA 10) just sold for $9125. And that's 'down' from 9700 and 11k.

Color blast have a history and for the most part are nice. There are a lot of “precieved” SP inserts, but with 24 PSA 10’s already, they are not overly rare. For me, if a card can be easily found, in multiples, it is not as rare as most promote!

For instance, there is a modern product released at the beginning of the month and 2 parallels are very SP’d for any player. The cards are unnumbered and currently there are 2 available on eBay of a particular player and ZERO ever listed of the other parallel.
