Who are the players that you always wonder how their career would have played out “if” circumstances were different?
Griffey Jr. & health? Ted Williams & military service?

Good one - forgot about him.
Thought about him - sounds likes he’s turned into a cruddy person but he showed points and ability of dominance.

Tim Lincecum and Stras are two others I often think of too.

Yup. Biggest “What If” he was properly scouted and drafted by the Mariners, Padres, Giants or (gasp) Braves?
Angels have been gifted the 2 most talented players of the generation and have absolutely nothing to show for it as they continue to underdevelop and mismanage young players. The fact Trout & Ohtani actually succeeded there should be even bigger positive marks on their legacy. |

As a D'backs fan, it's Brandon Webb. Won a Cy Young, finished second twice, then done.

I always thought Lincecum maxed out and totally exceeded expectations in the process. Doesn't seem to fit this thread.

Barry Bonds, if he didn’t juice or get caught.... Ge would be arguably one of the greatest of all time.

Herb Score is a good one mentioned above.
Trout & Griffey Jr. as well. All the guys who loast years to military service, and any "what-if" discussion has to include Bo.. |

Ted Williams is definitely not the biggest what if, but he would’ve had over 600 home runs, over 3,000 hits, and over 2000 RBI if it wasn’t for military service.
Jacob deGrom is going to be my answer. If he was fully healthy every season, we could have seen potentially the most dominant stretch of pitching ever. |

Sandy Koufax. Grew up reading baseball history books borrowed from the library.
