So probably sometime in May.

Releases tomorrow, does anyone care? Better or worse than SPGU? $450 a box seems really steep.

You know there are multiple 1/1's right? Box prices won't come down until other more affordable boxes release to compete if any is left by then (Extended, OPC Platinum etc) and there are enough Bedard rookies that any rookie of his whatsoever doesn't garner stupid money. When his 3/5 SP Game Used goes for $20K and his Tim Horton card that isn't even an official rookie and has another player goes for $5 prices will stay high. It will happen though probably during summer, barely any products have released since OPC and a lot of the shine has already moved past his OPC rookie, box prices are still high though as his rookie still cost enough it makes sense to rip.

Most 1 pack products are for the extreme gamblers. Could we possibly see SPA boxes at $1,000? OPC Platinum will be crazy!!!!

Yes and no. The hobby in general is a gamble. Some people prefer one pack products (like me) so that I'm not stuck with another box of penny cards.

That said, it's a tough pill for BD at almost 500. I do understand the upcharge for the chase. Was more comfortable paying 179 a few years ago. Will be looking for singles since I love the set.

BD is tough because it's sticker/manufactured patches. It looks nice but the long term value isn't there. Last years BD is down to $199 and if you look at completed listings there are 2 non BIN cards that have reached that price. If a autograph of Matthews, Lemieux, or the top rcs in the product /10 won't even pay for your pack..it's over priced.

The 1st few Bedards will go for gangbusters but anyone who doesn't pull one is going to get shafted really hard at $500.

I think I like spgu at 200 over this at 500, both suck but at least spgu hurts less.

SPGU and the true RC to jersey number were once must have. I still prefer those over BD. Which card is the true RC in it?

In my opinion, BD is the worst of the high-end products from UD. Yes, there are a few nice subsets like Band of Color, but a lot of sticker/manufactured patches, designs are average. I prefered the old format, with more packs and thin foil cards.

Agreed and if you track high-end one pack products, BD value is the worse of the bunch. Overall, the top one pack products, value wise/desired hits, are The Cup, Ultimate and Premier. I think Clear Cut also has a place for long term value.

Unfortunately no, $500 USD at the big online shops. If you work for it and go to your LCS, you can find them for $350-400. Which just goes to show you that the mega distributors, who get them at discount from UD, bulk up their profits while your smaller LCSs still make a profit at a slightly more reasonable number.

Cheapest price I saw from a local LCS is $440+tax (CAD). That's a lot of dough for sticker autographs and manufactured patches. Easy pass

The Cup will be over $1000 more and the other products are also more expensive so I'd hope they bring higher value lol none of these products will be close to the price of last year's that's why I've jokingly asked if we are going to have "sticker shock" threads for every 2023-24 Upper Deck product lol

fwiw, trilogy seems "reasonably" priced at under 200 a box, maybe metal universe as well but that tends to nosedive after release. I dont think there will be much upward pressure on boxes from here on out, Bedard isnt playing and was kinda meh towards the end of the year. And now the YG flood is hitting the market and driving prices way down.

I could see metal universe being stronger, depending on design and the picture chosen. If they select a red jersey, the red PMG color match will be huge!!!!

Unfortunately I was referring to USD, not CAD. So your $440 CAD would be about $335 USD, and I'd say are selling at a "good price" for the product.

Of course even that is too much for manufactured patches and sticker autos, I'll agree with you there!

That's why I'm so surprised everyone dove head first into Extended it feels like, I know FOMO from S2 kicked in but all those things you mentioned will be worse by Extended's release including more products released in the meantime to saturate his overall RC market. Then you factor in it's harder to hit canvas and his canvas will settle lower than his YG which is dropping now and may luck be on the side of case rippers lol

I agree with you though, some of the lower tier mid-end sets don't seem to have gone up a ton, Credentials/Synergy/Trilogy all seem close to last year's price (On pre-order of course, could change by release), even Allure but any established or popular sets like OPC Plat., SP, Extended have got a pre big boost.

I watched a couple of box openings on youtube, 4 boxes opened and only one had an (sticker) auto. For 500 a box that's insane.

How many different Bedard serial numbered cards are in this set!?!? I see so many different ones already listed and there's everything from high to low numbered.

BD and Synergy are the worst UD products ever made. BD using manufacturer patch is just anti-hobby and Panini followed UD in some of their products.
