Default EBay rant: Just more wonderful people!

Listed a lot (x2) Rated Rookies Stroud and Dell. Listed accidentally as $2.50 BIN instead of $25.00 BIN. Before I could change the mistake someone bin'd it for $2.50. I politely messaged and said "Yeah mistake, sorry, but $2.50 is not really realistic, obviously a mistake, I am re-listing". I received back a vicious swear-laden tirade about not selling for $2.50. Do people not have a brain? I mean I made a mistake of one decimal place. Sure OK call me an idiot for doing that but mistakes happen. Do I really need to be threatened with death?

Report them.

They can still neg you for it, but they gave you the tool to get it removed.

Let's see these messages -- particularly the death threats.

Post message. Sounds like it was probably a back and forth.

Not buying the threatened with death part. That is a pretty serious claim which requires proof. Can't be taken lightly or said willy nilly.

Need the name and proof.

Crazy considering your eBay rating says this…

Accurate description 4.6

Seems like eBay isn’t for you

If there were more ratings I would say 4.6 could indicate a problem, and it still might....but it's based on 10 total ratings and all have been positive.....for me I would have to see more ratings before I would use that as a tool of judgement.

8 or 9 years ago a 4 6 would get you banned from ebay. When they used dsrs a positive could get you faster than a neg could

I remember those days....but I don't remember if there was a minimum amount of ratings before they would ban you.

I mean in this case, seller has a 4.6 rating out of 10 buyers who have left feedback/stars. If my math is correct, that means that 9 buyers could have left 5 stars, while 1 buyer left 1 star, and that would get you to 4.6. All buyers have left positive feedback, nobody saying description could have been better or anything else not positive....for me I just wouldn't use a 4.6 as judgement as to if a seller should be selling on eBay or not.

Seems like it used to be a few freebies then it did not matter. And tgey used the same 12 month or 3 month eval periods. Yeah a 4.6 could easily be 9 5s and a 1. So that one would have been a freebie

What does a 4.6 description rating have to do with this buyer sending swearing-laced messages and an alleged death threat over a mis-priced listing?

What's odd to me op has no issue naming names but all tge sudden did not here. Is kinda suspect. But 4.6 is not great but not really relevant

Basically why I do not believe him.

Also his adding "do people not have a brain?"

Why write something so aggressive and off point in the OP. I am kinda doubting him not talking in similar terms to someone he had a disagreement with on eBay.

I'm fully on his side in regards to things should be a simple refund and handled. But he seems far too emotional and unfair to handle things so simply.

Yes people don't deserve their life threatened, but how exactly can someone on eBay threaten your life? Aside from I'm gonna XXXX you etc. Which if said should be a simple OP reading... "don't sell to X.. tried to get a steal and when I told him I had to cancel he said he was gonna XXXX me".

All this extra bogus nonsense is pretty reflective of the seller more than the mystery buyer currently.

Doesn't seem like he should be selling on eBay or dealing with people in general.

So no username and no messages supporting the death threat accusations.

OP has been pretty active since posting this up, but still no replies to some legitimate questions.
Real bad look.

It seems like the OP broke just about every rule for what this section is for.

1. Be clear
Don't post a thread and say anything like, "for now I am not naming any names"

2. Be unemotional
Nobody cares how much you hate someone or how many interesting names you can call them. You will lose a lot of credibility if your op looks more like an assassination attempt.

3. Be truthful
Many, many callout threads backfire because the op is a liar. Don't write your own callout thread. Don't be that guy.

4. Be complete
Are you talking about a member here? Link to their account.
Are you talking about a thread or post? Link the thread or quote the post.
Are there images? Don't just link them - make copies.

5. Be present
Don't post a callout thread and ghost. There will always be questions. It is your thread, answer them.

Doesn’t proof read his listing.

Gets pissy when his mistake costs him.

Posts wild claims without any proof.

Runs away.

This is what this section has been missing for the longest time!

Wow

Just wow you guys are brutal

I simply forgot about this thread.

The Ebay username is: mochwarrior

Not a member here I don't think or know.

I had a NPB with him/her then before I could block they purchased again. Since blocked. He/She left very bad negative review which EBay has since removed. I apologize I do not have any screenshots or anything.

Hope this helps since it seems I need to be tarred, feathered, whipped, and beaten out of town for not coming on here in a more timely fashion. But I guess you can just call me names if it makes you feel better.

Who called any names?

Why would you delete those messages? Even if you did you can retrieve them.

In past month you have posted three npb threads but you did not block him before you posted? Seems off. If what you say is true that is still on you but sheds more light on why the buyer might snap if they did. Bet your message to them was all sunshine and rainbows

Forgot the thread? Good one.
I would think that any forth and back you had with mochwarrior would still be in your ebay messages? Or did you delete those?
And being snide in your reply here just makes you sound like an a-hole.
Whatever happened to just owning it, taking the 'L' like an adult and moving on?

Ebay messages dont get deleted. If you delete a message it goes to the trash folder in the message section of my ebay. Where it'll stay and cannot be removed. Ebay messages are also sent to the email account linked to ebay.

Edit: not sure what happens to a reported message, possible they might go away. But would still be in the associated email account.

Wait, what? Which guys were brutal? What words did they ACTUALLY SAY that were brutal?

You know, the truth matters. It might not to you, but when you come here saying someone threatened you with death, and you don't add their name (which you always do), and simply play the victim, it's pretty reasonable for people to ask for the buyers name. You know what's appropriate as you post here often.

Now with the drama again.. that you're being tarred, feathered, whipped, and beaten out of town.. where?

All that happened is reasonable questions were made and reasonable assumptions ensued. Then you literally ran from and avoided the thread, and came back with no supporting information, but did come back pointing fingers? As far as name calling goes, the ONLY name calling in the entire thread is by you (calling yourself an idiot in the OP, & "do people not have brains"?)

(redacted rest as mochwarrior has cleared up that he has no association with the OP, besides the OP lying about him and smearing his name)
