Default Do you have any hobby superstitions?

It's almost Halloween, so it seems like it might be a good thread.

Anyone have any lucky charms or rituals before breaking?

Any curses or voodoo you believe in?

Theres something about the last pack sitting in a box at the LCS. Everyone seems to question it.

The dented and damaged boxes tend to have better hits.

Always buy the box with the post-it price tag on it, not the unlabelled ones behind them on the shelf.

Look for the same digit at the end of the serial number on the MLB authentication hologram - those have better hits.

Purchase boxes from stores when the owner brings their pets to the shop - they are lucky.

1. Never pick packs from the very top of a freshly opened box.
2. Packs at the bottom of a box are the best (only works for early 1990s boxes).
3. When opening a box, take time to pop open the box display for maximum mojo energy.

My superstition is it's bad luck for me to open boxes. If I do I fear I'll lose most of my money with little to show for it.

Damaged boxes = better luck.

Always buy the last box.

If I go in expecting to pull nothing good then I’m not disappointed when it comes true.

Last pack. I've pulled some nastiness out of last packs left in a box.

I have to have good vibes all around me when opening my packs, otherwise I get junk.
It happens every time the kids are fighting or other chaos in the house.
I should just stop & reset, because not only is it not enjoyable, but I have never pulled anything good when this stuff occurs.
I seem to subconsciously know when a good card is coming or at least I tell myself that! LOL

Shoo sounds like last call at my local bar room. But sometimes, you really just want a pack of cards, regardless.

This! I haven't bought a box in 15 years! No luck. Just wait for stuff to hit eBay or here.

I always open wax while drinking a beer. Always… no exceptions. It makes the losses sting less

Any singles I buy inevitably goes down in price, so I avoid it like black cats.

I open wax to take the hit up front, this way, any future losses for the cards I keep I write off as entertainment.

Always buy the sticker serial number that ends in 666.

Last box magic. Besides that, I ask my two year old son to pick the blaster box. Also, I let my wife do the ripping. That’s how to bring luck into my cards.
