Dodgers picked to finish 3rd in division behind Padres, Giants, and or Dbacks ended up finishing 1st and winning 100 games.

Who picked the Dodgers to finish 3rd this year?

A lot of “Baseball Experts” picked the Dodgers third.
Dodgers showed no emotion, fire, or heart in playoffs.
Dodgers need a leader who will show them the way in the playoffs. Who that is I don’t know?

Which ones? All 5 at CBS had them second. Four of 5 at Yahoo had them winning the division. 12 of 28 at ESPN had them winning the division, the other 16 had them making the playoffs.

You think Kershaw is really coming back? I think he might join Seager in Texas.

Clearly what Texas needs is a third multi-Cy Young winning pitcher with an injury risk on their 2024 roster.

With Kershaw, maybe the rotation can be called, "The Pitchers of Perpetual Indulgence."

While they're at it, maybe work up a trade with the Nationals for Strasburg.

Get rid of Roberts, sure.

The front office though? What's the problem with them? This team has a ton of flexibility in roster and payroll moving forward.

If a manager is managing primarily with analytics (and limited to that primarily by the higher ups), then it restricts the manager from making certain decisions that are "outside the box". I'm not sure if Roberts is capable of managing outside the box, but that's coming down from the front office.

^Tend to agree Stu. Yes, they whiffed on securing Seager but hindsight and Trevor Story/Correa etc didn’t make that a slam dunk IMO. Hard to predict domestic violence, Catman drop off/injuries etc.
I do think they could use a little fire in the dugout
I miss Tommy sometimes

Roberts is a marionette. Nothing more. An absolute company man who does what he is instructed to do. He wasn't hired to make choices, he was hired to wear a uniform.

Get him into the postseason where the analytically crafted plan is gone, he's a telemarketer when he has to go off script...stuck.

He may be the least impactful manager in baseball.

I have a feeling Kershaw is going to retire a Dodger this year

I wonder how different the Dodgers would be if they had a real manager (like Bruce Bochy) at the helm? One can only dream...

I’m excited to see what Pepiot, Miller and Sheehan can do with a year of seasoning and increased workload.

Let’s talk Dodger’s infield:
1st-Freeman
2nd-
3rd-
SS-
First base is set with Freeman.
Second, Third, SS?
Dodgers have Lux, Rojas, Vargas, and Muncy for the rest of the infield. Where does Lux play?, Where does Rojas play?, Do Dodgers play Vargas and give him another chance?
Muncy do Dodgers resign or let him walk?
Chris Taylor could play some infield too. You could also throw Michael Busch in the mix
Thoughts???

Having 2 full time DH’s doesn’t make much sense. Ohtani’s wing is kaput.

Martinez isn’t signed for next year.
