A lot of speculation and talk about the Zegras/Drysdale contract drama in Anaheim.
A couple points: - Pat Verbeek did not draft either of them and has been adamant his goal is to make Anaheim "difficult to play against". He also learned under Steve Yzerman in Tampa and Detroit. - Drysdale has played around 100 NHL games and missed last season with a shoulder injury. -Zegras, while popular, was one of the worst two-way Ducks last season. Also in the box way too often -- 32 last season compared with 20 the previous. It's been reported that the Ducks and Zegras are in line on term (3 years), but far apart on AAV, with Anaheim (allegedly) offering 3-4 mil/year. I have no idea what Drysdale and his agent are doing, they must think there is some leverage with a surgically repaired shoulder and 1 full NHL season under his belt. Zegras of course has value, but I'm sure he and his agent think he deserves Troy Terry money which is laughable. Will be interesting to see how these contracts are resolved. |

I saw Bernard-Docker was cut by Ottawa, along with a bunch of other guys that used to haunt us when we opened our boxes. The irony of many of them is that we still have to see them in all the 21-22 products to be released in their pre-cut unis

Ottawa going from the best young 1-2-3 punch at centre (behind NJ) in Stutzle, Norris, Pinto to Stutzle, Greig, Chartier is really grim and a big blow to them needing to have a huge start to the year.

Hopefully it means they learned from crushing Alexander Holt's development last year by keeping him up then having him be a healthy scratch 60% of the tme. Although totally agree that Nemec looked like he belonged in the preseason

Might not make it past the nine games though. Buffalo is fairly deep on the wing right now and there’s no need to rush him.
