Mervis, grayson rodriguez, taj bradley, neto, eury perez (who still doesn't have a Bowman 1st?), julien, mcclain... Yikes. It was nice of Topps to release the CL early. Like a mercy kill.

He's a change of scenery and a healthy season away, but yah, given that neither have officially happened yet, it's weird to have him on Update. Would guess Acuna is card 1 in 2024 with him on the box. Unsure who a good candidate for update would have been

I just assumed Ohtani would be on Update w/ what he was doing before they need to start printing packaging.

Didn't Jeter Downs #145 and JJ Bleday #330 already have RC cards in Series 1? Those should be Rookie Debuts not regular Rc's.

First look is a pretty trashy to average at best checklist. Might be better in a few years when a few surprises might pop up but not much to get excited about as of now.

Yeah looking over the checklist at release nothing to write home about but there are some guys if they blossom could make it a really sneaky set that sealed wax prices end up higher than most think in 3-5 yrs

New team, new RC. Happens quite a bit. (See randy arozarena’s 2020 Update #U208 Rays card as an example.)

Yes. A hobby case would do well to land 6 autos and 6 relics.

Agreed.

"2011 Topps Update is utter trash!" - everyone in 2011.

The goal is to look for the non-hype guys. The big names are already way overpriced.
