I don't know, personally I prefer it compared to a state income tax.

Ebay doesn't have taxes.

States have sales taxes (as do some municipalities and counties).

Ebay is being forced by said state governments to collect sales tax for them.

There should definitely be additional collectible taxes that should pay for workforce development programs. Flipping isn’t a profession.

Every store in the world is flipping stuff. Buy it for a lower price, resell it for a higher price.

It was nice when the price was the price.

At our local card show, the promoter walks around at the end of the day and collects taxes. Dealers dread it.

I still can't comprehend taxes on used items.

I didn't realize how spoiled I was. As a Missouri resident I didn't have to start paying sales tax on ebay until this year. Now before buying on ebay I always google search ebay usernames trying to find the seller on Instagram, here, or anywhere else I can contact them to try to work something out. It usually doesn't work, but it's definitely worth it when it does.

Umm… what?

How in the hell does he audit you? It’s also your responsibility to remit. Not his

Sounds like you guys are just giving him money for no reason

I don’t believe this for a second

I don't agree with used item tax either. But I can see, if they don't, everyone will start calling all items "used".

At some point the govt will try to find a way to track any sales down on FB marketplace, X, and IG.
