I wonder what these will be priced at, they almost seem like blaster format but with better upside potential, so i'm guessing $20-30 per.

I’m down to chase a few game used relics. In this case I’d actually prefer one to a sticker auto.

100-card base set. No way they could do a Clamson version.

Design is simple, but quite nice

Curious if there will be a Saban auto. Assuming if they did, I’d be on the sell sheet

Note that 21-22 Bowman U was largely a paper release that preceded 2022 BUC.

This is pretty cool. I like a future where card products can get this niche. It would be super fun to see these for the big programs alongside conference specific sets as a compromise between the wide range, full college sets and the hyper specific team sets. Obviously most FBS schools will not have the market for this, but as a hypothetical, an ACC set could obviously go deeper on a Wake Forrest or Boston College side of the checklist than a national set could while still retaining commercial appeal.

i have already told people that if the way i read the sales info is how it will be, this is a stupid set. at least when upper deck did theirs they had players from the past. from how i read it, this set is only players from this year and i would assume players in last years releases. if you are determined to do something like this, do an SEC set or Big 10 or whatever, but dont limit yourself to basically one year of one school. this just dont look like a winner for anyone other than the albama fan, and i dont think that is enough to justify this

We'll see how you feel when the Tennessee set comes!

if they do it like this i will tell you it is a stupid idea. sure, i would probably be interested in them somewhat, but if they did a Tennessee set with autos and jerseys of Manning, Eric Berry, Corderrelle Patterson, Carl Pickens, Alvin Harper, Tee Martin, Al Wilson, cut autos of Reggie White, Johnny Majors, and such, then i would be all over it. Just like the Alabama, Texas, and Notre Dame set that upper deck did with legends, that was a great idea but still a limited customer base. But it is still (and this is my point that i think you missed) when you do one team covering one year, how many people outside of the alabama fanbase are going to byu them. some, yes, but i just dont think there is enough to warrant what they are trying

Oh, I got your point, I was just messing with you.

Even with its limitations and shortfalls, it still would be a Vols-only set. I’d kill for a Niners only set (though admittedly a multi year/autos set would be better).

This works well as a cheaper, retail only style product. Instead of just teams, they may benefit from Conferences instead. All ACC, SEC, BIG10, BIG12, an all MACtion set would be electric. I also agree that it'd be best if they do 4-5 star recruits 1sts and legends. No need for all the fluff in between.

I think you guys are crazy for wanting legends. I mean sure some fun insert and auto sets with legends, but I only want active players in base. If the argument that these sets need legends to have viable enough appeal past, in this case, the state of Alabama, that is different and okay. But wanting them? I am a Niners fan and I get annoyed every time they put Jerry Rice and Joe Montana in base sets instead of... anyone on the 49ers.

Don't forget that Fanatics has a, "massive, long-term, multifaceted partnership" with the University of Alabama, including a retail store INSIDE Bryant Denny Stadium. And this sell-sheet mentions the product will be sold "at the school".

So believe it or not, I think the release will do just fine for both Fanatics and Alabama.

Try finding sealed 2012 UD or 2015 Panini (Which WAS multi-sport AND hot garbage) on the secondary market, and good luck.

I can't get enough Montana and Rice. Don't get me wrong, Deebo is fun like watching Nikola Jokic but I will always love my all-timers like Jerry Rice who dominated like Shaquille O'Neal. And maybe someday a guy like Deebo/Jokic will be an all-timer but they have quite the hill to climb before reaching Rice/Shaq mountaintops.

Yikes, the Bowman pump has reached all-time highs with people hyping up an NIL Alabama set lol
