Default Guilty Junk Wax Era Rip?

Do you have older wax you like to open that is that guilty pleasure? Not valuable, but has some nostalgia to it?

I don’t have any now, but 1990 Score would be on that list.

Anything from the 92/93 Basketball season. This is when i got heavy into collecting cards. It took a lot of mowing lawns to afford the sudden $5 per pack Fleer ultra and Stadium Club series 2 packs, chasing Shaq. Was one of my favorite eras of collecting cards.

I loved that NBA lineup.
I was finishing high school at the time and would grab a pack or two a day.

I have quite a bit of junk wax for when the urge hits....1984 & 1988 wax boxes & cellos, 1988 Topps Big, various Score Pinnacle stuff from the early 90's, etc.

Don’t know if this is considered junk wax but the 2019 topps series one packs in the megaboxes with no chance at an insert. I have about 50 of those packs laying around and once in a blue moon I open one, got 2 Ohtani cards in yesterday’s 1 pack opening the rookie cup card and the A.L West studs Ohtani and Bregman.

I love opening 1986/1987 Donruss.

1986 because that was the first year I was able to find Donruss anywhere and I remember chasing Jose Canseco.

1987 because of all the rookies and I remember chasing Bo Jackson.

I like the '89 Bowman. Also '90 & '91 Bowman as well.

The stuff is loaded with big name (HOF) rookies.

1990 Topps - The first packs I remember opening as a kid...still fun to pull a Thomas RC or Griffey Rookie Cup

1989 Donruss - Griffey RC

1987 Donruss - All those great RCs!

1991 Score - great insert sets make it fun

1989 Bowman. Lots of really good photos of the players. My favorite from that set would be the Nolan Ryan in his new Texas Rangers uniform.

I'm a football guy but anything from the '89 - '91 era is a fun rip. I was watching all three major sports then (sorry, hockey) and love all those products, no matter how worthless they are now.

I keep several of these boxes in my office for my friends and I to open: ‘87 topps baseball, ‘90 score baseball, ‘91 topps baseball, ‘91-‘92 upper deck basketball, ‘93-‘94 skybox basketball. Cheap to replace and the nostalgia is always worth it.

I opened a box of 91 topps with my daughters last year. Had some damaged cards in my set I was trying to replace. Got like 4 Chipper rookies LOL.
Had a hard time convincing the girls not to chew the gum. pretty sure they still tried to though.

Not even that guilty, Imma try to find some cheap boxes of 88-92 Donruss at the Natty to finish out my "Leaf, Inc" / "Leaf, Inc." variation sets, esp. 89-90 as I sold most of my extras off when I was a kid before I ever really paid attention to variations. Any 91-92 Elites would be a sweet bonus but not counting on them!
