So I have a card graded PSA8 (OC)
All things being equal should I expect valuation to be about the same as a PSA7 with no qualifiers?

I think it depends on how bad the centering is and I would consider 9(OC) an exception. In general, I would expect a 9(OC) to sell for more than an unqualified 7.

Yes, agree it depends. Cards with an OC qualifier can be a hair away from miscut and then there are some OC 8s and 9s that can be 30/70ish. I recently sold a 61 Yaz 9OC that I got for a song back in '19 and this time was able to get around 7 no-Q money for. That card was a hair away from miscut and I am hoping to get a centered 7 for the same $ and it ain't easy. I also have a 66 Yaz 9OC in my collection that I got for less than 7 money and the thing is really more like 30/70 not to mention razor sharp. It's not a card I feel like parting with. Those are just two examples.
Generally I think it's hard to get better than 6 money for an 8OC. With 9OC vs 7, it can be more variable. |
