Default Rittenhouse House of Dragon Season 1

Supposed to come out this year. Still no preview.

Anyone know which main characters have been signing so we know who to expect?

RH mentioned that Matt Smith signed for this when they mentioned he signed for upcoming Dr. Who stuff.

I am super pumped for this set. I check Rittenhouse's site like once a week hoping for updates. Hope they land some big signers.

A lot of the cast members have been doing signings with SWAU, Zobie and GalaxyCon. I have many customs out for these signings. Guarantee that all those signers will be part of this set. So I would expect cards from Matt Smitt, Milly Alcock, Emma D'arcy, Olivia Cooke, Evie Allen, Shani Smethurst, Graham McTavish, Eve Best and Emily Carey.

Awesome news. I’m hoping for a full complement.

At the Philly non-sports show the Rittenhouse people said something like they couldn't put out season 1 until season 2 either actually aired or had a release date. I believe production is stopped on the show because of the strike, so I'm not sure when that will be, but my impression was that the cards are ready whenever they are allowed to sell them.

What’s the rationale behind that?

Maybe they view certain license arrangements as marketing pushes and a strategic way to supplement their ad budgets? Tie releases close to the new season to boost exposure, ratings, and presumably revenues and longevity of a show (ie an S3 is contingent on an S2 doing well.).

HOD has been pushed indefinitely.

Instead, we get Game of Thrones: Art & Images in December.

We will have details about the upcoming Game of Thrones: Art & Images Trading Cards in a few weeks. Lots of cool cards, and some very cool autographs, including some dual autos with Emilia Clarke!
Hopefully these are on card duals.

Actually, production isn’t stopped on Season 2. Since they shoot in the UK, mostly, the actors are performing under a different union than SAG. Due to UK laws, the UK actor’s union cannot strike in solidarity with SAG. As for the release date, I know nothing.

Is it the same for writing? I would assume the writing is done in the US and is impacted by the WGA - I know most shows werent impacted by the season writing but couldn't do any re-writes on set and therefore had to shutdown production do to the inability to be agile.

No mockups at the Philly show, but they said summer of 2024 for release. They wouldn't name signers, but hinted at "House Targaryen".
For the set coming out in December there's a bordered Clarke and a Valyrian Harington. Also Ciaran Hinds for the first time.

Great info. Hope this upcoming set is worth it. Haven’t ripped anything since season 8.

They'll probably have some stuff on display at the Philly show this weekend.

This looks fun. The auto checklist is awesome.

Pretty surprising considering how many autos there have been per box recently for them, seemed like 4 was the new normal. With 51 signers it's hard to imagine more than a third will be main characters. With such a small base set though, there should be tons of inserts and parallel cards. Long story short yeah that price seems high.

I think you misread the information above. There are 51 single wardrobe cards. There are only 16 signers.

That said, if it's really $270 per box, that is pretty expensive, even with the great auto checklist.

You're right I did misread it, but I'm sure there are more signers than the ones they listed. Won't know until shortly before the release how many there are though.

No Aemond? Of course my favorite character isn't here. Gonna be a weird and expensive break with only 12 autos in a case. I wonder if the relics are just "costume material." Not very exciting. Autos are super cool though.

Just a heads up, if you use the code WELCOME you can get 10 bucks off and keep free shipping. I got a box for 189.

Based on the wording on the site that is the complete auto checklist.
Doesn’t sound like they are adding anyone else

That is the price on the rittenhouse website to buy direct from them. Binders and boxes were on sale last I checked

Milly's card will be smoking hot with her just announced as the big screen's Supergirl in the new DC movie universe.

Journey back with me to 2012, that long ago world, when I pre-ordered (and received) a Game of Thrones Season 1 Archive Box (with all autographs, etc.) for $1,200. I ended up with way more autos than I expected, since there were 2 each from most signers.

As great a deal as that immediately showed to be, I was still able to pre-order (during the briefer window for that) a Season 2 Archive Box the next year for around $1,400.

All of that to say, this all costs a bit more now about, doesn't it?
Very good luck to those who can afford it, really!
I'm looking forward to seeing the cards.
