yeah they did but I find it interesting they dropped the bounty from $250K to the gimmicky $222,222.22

I was looking but cannot find a video on that guy who ripped all those cases doing a breakdown of the SSP set/bounty in the end how it all worked out. Any chance you know where to find it, anyone?

So the guy who bought like 100 cases will be in for round 2? Is Fanatics helping pay for this? Seems like a promotion.

I'd be shocked if he does - odds per pack to pull them are slightly worse in Hobby than they were in S1 (1:454 is now 1:469) and WAY worse in Jumbo (1:46 is now 1:136). On top of that the print run on each is ~half as much as S1, so they'd have a harder time filling in the missing ones by buying from other people the way they did in S1 (or at least they'd likely have to spend more money on them). On top of that the bounty is smaller.

The pictures reveal a small technical/checklist question with the bounty in particular and a general one for S2. Will there be variants for cards with S1 Checklist #s ? If so, will there then be S2 cards without variants, to create an even 330 quantity?

Yeah agree but I’d like to see the series 1 winners social media page and get his thoughts. Definitely more risky for round 2.

Not sure I follow. Why would all 330 cards in S2 not have an SSP? All 330 in S1 did.

How long did it take for someone to finish the series 1 set?

Looking for Andre Dawson Serial numbered cards that are his jersey number - either #8 or #10. So looking for cards like 8/8 or 08/99 or 10/250.

Massive props to anyone who has the resources to pull this off, he looks like he enjoyed it. But all quiet lately on Twitter for him so maybe repeat winners aren’t allowed?

The direct cost will be more per box to do this for series 2.
$5 more per hobby box and $50 more per jumbo box.

Do the ole 80s/90s soda pop bottle cap gimmick (ie promotion). Spell "Coca Cola" with your bottle caps and win $100k. But make the "l" really tough to find/short printed of the short print Just a few veteran guys that nobody cares about with a super short print of the short print, and you should be fine.

Not to mention, Series 1 still honored allocations for shops and distributors set before Fanatics took over.

Series 2 will be harder to acquire large amounts of cases to rip since Fanatics will hold more back to sell on their website at market+

The card in the picture is card #17, which was Ohtani’s card in S1

So if he has another SSP in S2, there could be > 330 SSPs

Shohei has at least 2 "base cards" (cards with base set designs), card #600 (as a batter since the photo in S1 was as a pitcher?) then card #17 in the 17-card the "Base Series 1 Art Set Checklist" which has top players in a super short print insert of some kind. (17 cards. 1:12,145 packs. Jumbo only.) ... those plus the "normal" SSP in the series 2 checklist

So, the basic "SSP" insert still would be the 330 SSP cards and the preview photo you are going off of, is just misleading with regards to the actual SSP chase the bounty is for...?

Oh, I see what you're saying. The card back in that preview image says 17. That's pretty obviously just an error in the preview image (which I suspect Blowout put together themselves, as I haven't seen that particular triple-card image anywhere else - so they likely just grabbed an image of the existing 17 SSP back because hey, 'good enough for government work,' right?). Neither of the fronts matches the actual card 17 (or the card 17 SSP).

Pretty sure I read an interview someone did with him and he said that he would not be going for the entire 990 cards for the $1 million stating it was too time consuming and cost prohibitive.

Blowout is offering a $1 million bounty for the entire Golden Mirror set (Series 1, 2 and Update). One would think Walters and the Real Sportscards team are primed to go for the Series 2 and Update Golden Mirror Image sets when those products are released later this year. But Walters has no plans to do that.

“No,” Walters laughed when asked about completing the other sets. “The issue with it is the timing. It would take a lot of work to get that done [competing with football]. I call Series 1 the ‘Amazing Chase,’ but the other two I call the ‘Impossible Chase.'”

Following up on Zworkin's question, why would cards with S1 checklist #s be included in S2 packs?

There have been photo variations from other Series’ card #s issued like that before. 2013 comes to mind. That year, S1 packs had a few “Great Catch” SPs with S2 card #s, while S2 packs had a few “Sunglasses” SPs with S1 card #s. I think this has happened in other years possibly too but I can’t recall a specific example.

Even last year the Ultra SPs were actually that way.

Series 1 had cards 1-330, but the Ultra SPs were for cards 200, 208, 236, 401, and 507. Those were the 'Braves celebrating the World Series' set and I'm assuming they just knew in advance that while Ozzie Albies and Dansby Swanson weren't going to make the cut for S1 base cards, they wanted to include those guys in the Ultra SPs.

And then Series 2 was the first wave of mascot head Ultra SPs, and while the set was 331-660, the Ultra SPs were for cards 215, 250, 290, 300, and 315 - ALL Series 1 cards. Obviously they wanted to use big stars as the 'base' for those cards, and they were all in S1.

From the article:

The article is doing a poor job and conflating two things there - the full season bounty (if BO are even still offering it, since they took down that page months ago) was for all 990 cards IN PSA 10 - meaning he'd have had to track down all 330 S1 cards again, since he handed the first set over to BO, and then he'd have to get them into PSA 10 slabs, so you figure on average he'd probably actually need something like 1.5 to 2 more copies of each since they're clearly not all going to gem...

But in any event it sounds like he isn't doing the S2 or Update (assuming there is one) bounties either.
