Default Panini has officially surprised me...

So, I had this outstanding since 2013.

2012 Panini Innovation (12-13)
Rookie Autograph
Draymond Green
Golden State Warriors
.....

Just got a notification: OVERNIGHT....PANINI WHITE BOX BASKETBALL.

I argued with them that I have been waiting 10 FRICKIN YEARS. They said, nah we can only send a sparkle. I told them, no sparkles- don't send anyhting less than a white box.

Expected a sparkle....and then this will arrive tomorrow. Woah.

Are you going to $hit a brick when they have a white sparkle pack in that white box?

But seriously good luck with your replacement!!
Awesome to hear!

Oh man, that would be the same ultimate trolling by then! I'm not sure I'll open it. It's a tough decision!

Every time I've called I wait 15 minutes and then am sent to voice mail. I gave up trying to talk to them years ago.

I've spoken to them twice by phone. I just call the regular customer service number and wait...don't recall what times I called, but didn't realize it's such an accomplishment lol.

I called a couple times in the last two months. When I got a follow up email, I just responded saying it would be great if they can send a white box due to the amount of time I've been waiting. Never had a response back until it randomly shipped yesterday

I'm torn whether to open or sell. Sealed they sell for $1300-1500.

Just don't want to end up with a Shaq 1/1 or something like that, there are some cards from these boxes that only sell for $200 or so.

Sell it if that’s a thought in your mind.

Yep, also I've read that Panini has different ranges of white boxes. So it could very well be a lower end card inside since my redemption was a more lower end card. Unless someone messed up and sent me a Luka orr Curry 1/1 🤣

Pretty sure that's still way better than what that Draymond Green auto would be worth. You should definitely open imo.

I think at this point you're pretty much golden no matter what. As mentioned, very good chance the box will have something better than the Draymond so opening is low risk. However if you can get 1300-1500, sell and buy a S.Curry Auto and the Draymond Auto, or anything else you might like more.

Open it.

Here is my reasoning. It's been 10 years of waiting... You could sell it for over $1000 you said? So you made a grand for a 10 year wait. That's nothing. The glory of being able to actually open something you waited so long for is worth it

Really depends on who you collect. I don't have a card in my collection over $1k that isn't Jordan, since he's my main PC guy. Obviously I wouldn't be pulling anything MJ in this, so if it were me, I'd sell and buy specifically what I want.

If you collect new players and like the thrill of the possibility of pulling something crazy, go for it!

Open it,....and there's a guaranteed Nickeil Alexander Walker 1/1 in it!! SELL IT,...and there's a Luka/Curry/Giannis 1 of 1 in it!! The choice, is yours! Hope this helps!

Exactly. I also heard Panini actually stopped sending low end cards as 1/1s and only send out replacements for 1K+ valued redemptions. But, sealed boxes have sold for 1K+ . Wish there was a checklist 🤣

For sure, agree with that. I like that line of thinking. And as others have said it's a win win whether I open or sell.

I did post in a Facebook group to sell it, but people are offering $850 lol. At that price point I'd rather just gamble and hope for something amazing.

Honestly, basketball wise I've not really collected much. Focus mostly on baseball and basketball really only sixers. I wouldn't mind a superstar 1/1 auto like Curry, Giannis, Luka, etc. 😜

You win either way in this situation. Personally, I’d open it.

Open it and post the result, or take the $800 offer or whatever since it’s going to be a lower end white box. The posts just waffling back and forth are not as entertaining

Sell the white box, buy a PC card and some hobby boxes to rip and still have money to spend.
