Easily one of the most underrated and wildly confusing releases by Topps. If they had made this a set with numbering and order, it would be one of the greats.
That being said, there are some absolutely FILTHY patches in this set and I would love to see what’s out there. I have a few, but my best is this one… ![]() Let’s see what else is out there!

It’s always been interesting that this type of product have different names and are spread into different products, it’s always been easy to lump them all together, they’re mostly interchangeable. Technically they aren’t really “year specific” either for that matter.
Certainly not saying any of them are not worthy or anything, they’re just really close to being signed jerseys or baseballs than baseball cards.

On the other hand, I still really enjoy the game used patch autos, with or without a MLB holo. Could be a childhood thing, where looking for the legitimately hard-to-pull jersey cards was the huge draw. Overall, I think I actually enjoy the Five Star Jumbo Patch autos a bit more, vs the Dynasty, dependent on the year's design. They offer a bigger patch window, that to me, probably fully maximizes the card surface area real estate. |

I love Topps Dynasty... I hate 2022 Topps Dynasty pricing (looking forward to the sheep accepting their slaughter on the bay)...

I love Dynasty! One of my favorite sets every year. 2022 pricing is a joke, it's like they're actively trying to make people hate it. I have about 25 Rizzos but this one is the best.

Why?
It's a pointless, high-end, auto only product created for gamblers that adds nothing to the hobby. Show me a single card from the entire history of Dynasty (or any other high-end product) that is visually memorable. |

A long time ago, way back in the year 2014, I decided to purchase my first case of cards. Time flies . . . I cannot believe that was almost a decade ago. I was so excited about buying my first case that I decided to buy my first two cases of cards. The product was 2014 Topps Dynasty. It was a brand new set and I was very interested in the possibilities. Every card was a patch autograph. It was very expensive though. $300 a pack and $1500 for a case. The risk was incredibly high because you only got one card per pack which meant the $1500 you spent on a case would only yield you five cards.
I decided to hold on to my two cases of 2014 Topps Dynasty until 10 days before my birthday. Then when that day came, I proceeded to break one box a day for the next ten days. Day 10 would be my birthday. I had an amazing experience! Case 1 Day 1: Adrian Gonzalez - shaky start. Day 2: Daisuke Matsuzaka - beautiful patch, but wrong player. Day 3: Joey Votto - best player so far, but getting nervous now. Day 4: Frank Thomas - very happy! I loved the Big Hurt when I was a kid. Day 5: Mike Trout 1/1 - Absolutely incredible! My first ever 1/1. Case 2 Day 6: Miguel Cabrera - Majestic Logo! Awesome card of a future HOF. Day 7: Sonny Gray - back to reality, but I was on a great hot streak. Day 8: Yasiel Puig - not a fan of him, but he was a hot name at the time. Day 9: David Wright - getting better. Solid player. Day 10: Mike Trout - my first duplicate, but I was thrilled to hit him again. I had such an amazing experience that I decided to build the entire 2014 Topps Dynasty set. The checklist had 72 names, but they never made the Willie Mays to my dismay. I did not complete the dual relic subset #/5. There were only 6 cards in this subset, but they did not make the Willie Mays here either, so there were only 5 cards in the subset. I also skipped the 1/1 cut signatures for obvious reasons. It took me three years to finish the set. The last card I added to finish the set was Yu Darvish, which was fitting because he is the last name on the checklist. Here is my 2014 Topps Dynasty set. It is arranged in alphabetical order based on each player's first name because that is how the checklist is ordered. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then here are some extra Dynasty cards. ![]() Here is another 2014 Dynasty Bryce Harper card that was not in the pictures. ![]() Then in January 2017, my birthday month, I received a raffle ticket as part of my gift for attending the inaugural Topps Transcendent Event. My raffle ticket gift was . . . a 2014 Topps Dynasty box, a very fitting gift. To keep my Dynasty tradition going from 2014, I kept the box sealed until my birthday. Here is the card that I pulled. ![]() I saved my Topps Dynasty 1/1s for the last picture. I pulled the 2014 Trout 1/1 from the first case of 2014 Dynasty I opened. I purchased the 2015 Dynasty Trout 1/1 Logoman from eBay for what I thought was a good price at the time. Then I joined a few 2015 Dynasty group breaks. I hit the Mariano Rivera 1/1 Majestic Patch and the Mariano Rivera 1/1 Logoman from the same 10 case break. Amazing luck! Then I got crazy and bought the cut signature spot for like $400. My hit . . . a dual relic #/5 of Ozzie Smith. The cut signature spot also included the dual relic cards #/5. A few breaks later the cut signature spot hit . . . a Babe Ruth 1/1 cut signature. And then the next break hit . . . a Babe Ruth 1/1 cut signature dual relic. What could have been, but I can't complain. Then the next year, I got into a few 2016 Dynasty group breaks with the same breaker. After watching some breaks, I noticed there were no Hank Aaron cards being pulled. So, I purchased the Hank Aaron spot for less than $100. I knew the chances were slim, but I took a chance. I didn't hit anything, but literally the next break . . . a Hank Aaron 1/1 dual relic Laundry Tag got pulled. You can't win them all, but again no complaints. I loved the cards that I got over the first three years of Dynasty and I still have them all to this day. I hope you enjoyed my long story. ![]()

You can literally buy almost any good player for the price of a box. I have a feeling even some of the cuts wont reach box price. It sold out. That is pure insanity. A 2020 Dynasty Trout Patch Auto /10 Sold for the same price as a box of this. Enjoy your Wade Boggs and Corbin Burnes Autos.
