eBay Searches: What’s Going On?

Anyone else notice eBay searches have become extreme, putrid garbage of late?

You type in “Sidney Crosby auto” and you get a page full of Auston Matthews cards.

Wtf?!?!?!

What is going on?

I think a lot of it is which players are listed in the item specifics, not necessarily the listing title. This way sellers can spam McDavid in every listing. I’ve found a remedy is by putting quotations around the players name. That usually clears things up.

Keyword spam buried in item specifics and/or people using a previous template to list new cards but forgetting to change said item specifics.

It’s definitely mega annoying.

Kind of sad that we have ChatGPT out there making financial models but eBay can't autofill the item specifics correctly based on a listing title.

Pierre Omidyar hires morons. When he finds them sitting around playing pencil drums he instructs them to reinvent the list your item section for the 15th time.

i contacted customer service and got no where i will often search bobby ryan and the first 100 listings will be other players i find if a seller has 1 bobby ryan card listed i will often get all his listings when i search not just the one bobby ryan

Interesting to hear this -- I also searched for Bobby Ryan a few times last week and had a similar experience.

Did pick up a couple dual autos -- search didn't help with that, either.
