Default Am I wrong?

I bought into a PYT break with a well known breaker. The product was 2023 Topps Series 1. The disclaimer did say that "vet base won't ship". I bought The Mariners and when my package arrived it was minus all the Julio Rodriguez Gold Cup RC and the Cal Raleigh "Future Stars" cards. I emailed the breaker and he said those were vet base. Is he right? A gold cup and a "future stars" card are "vet base"? Really? I'm out 8 of those J-Rod cards and 5 Cal's. Cal is a PC and that J-Rod card has value not only now but if he continues on his trajectory.....how is a Gold Cup card a "Vet Base"? I do not understand. Please comment!

I think it goes breaker by breaker. The vet base won't ship breaks I have been in they shipped any insert card and any rookie cup card. A good breaker should include those.

Yea, the disclaimer said vet base wont ship which means anything not a rc. So, you shouldn't get those since you knew it wouldn't be included. Have you tried sorting a case by teams? It's a lot of work so I understand breakers not wanting to ship base on breaks like flagship topps and heritage.

in his defense I can understand the confusion at least on the Julio since a lot of people call it Rookie Cup. But end of the day that's why you clarify not assume.

Sorry for missing out but any card that is not a RC is a veteran.

Maybe try and work something out with an additional payment.

Technically you're wrong, but the seller is a DB for doing that.

If sorting base from a break is too much work, that breaker should find another job.

Technically second year players aren’t considered veterans or journeymen. But gotta read the fine print.

Are they donating the vet base cards or selling?

Sorry to hear about this disappointing situation.

A few housekeeping questions:
Who is this "well known" breaker? How much did you pay for the Mariners spot? What platform was this on? Do you have any recourse?

If this is a veteran breaker, he did this knowingly and on purpose. Complete sleaze move. Despite some of the hard-liners who have answered before me, I do not take the position that Vet base is anything not an RC -- if that was the case, Topps wouldn't print rookie cups and future stars on the card. We all know what Vet Base doesn't ship means -- Kurt Suzuki and Craig Kimbrel cards aren't shipping. The most celebrated rookie from the previous season's Rookie Cup card? That's not a vet base under any circumstance. Vet base cards don't have Rookie Cups on them.

He intends to sell them at a profit as you bought the spot. Name and shame this sleaze ball.

I'm not sure these types of comments are useful. Do you happen to be a breaker? If they don't want to sort a case by teams -- why offer to break a case by team? Like, hello?

I’m glad I’ve never played or even considered playing in the group breaks part of pool.

This is the most absurd comment anyone could have made and completely out of touch with reality…legal recourse? Get outta here. I hope no one else reads this comment.

You know not all breakers do it as a “job” right? Some do it for fun.

This is 100% not true. In any sport if you aren’t a rookie then you are a veteran.

No, Mr. Breaker -- recourse with the platform he purchased on. You know, customer service, refunds etc.

You mentioned legal recourse, which would of course be absurd.

Nice chat.

I never use a breaker that refuses to ship all my cards. If I pay for the Mariners I want all my cards.

Kinda the bottom line, if you want all the cards to ship don't join a break where all cards don't ship

And if you don't know what constitutes "vet base", and you don't ask questions before joining, that's on you.

Either way, your comment is absurd but not shocking.

Either way you were completely and totally wrong. I hope many people read your comment.

Will also note you had nothing of substance to respond with so resorted to intentionally misreading my comment. Good look for breakers.

If you are taking people's money, it not just for fun.
