Default Who is a fan of framed cards?

I believe topps believes the card enthusiasts love the metal-framed card - they use them as case hits in museum collection and pack hits in gold label. Plus they are featured prominently in their highest-end product, transcendent. Furthermore they have helped to fuel sales of gilded.

But do we actually like them, or does topps just think we like them?

Only ones I have ever been a fan of was the very first time they made Museum Collection, when it was an insert in Marquee and not a stand alone product.

They were very popular on here in the mid 2010s. I was just thinking to myself the other day actually that it's interesting you don't see much love for them anymore

Never held one in hand but from scans they look cheap or tacky... maybe more just gimmicky.

Definitely nice, premium feeling, and I have a couple dozen from different products. I have some favorites (Transcendent autos) and some very curious ones (2016 Jorge De La Rosa flagship /10)

I don't love them, but like them better when in a PSA holder.

Back in like 2014 and 2015 they were actually /10 inserts in flagship, would have made a noticeable difference in weight on practically any box format.

I like them in limited application.

The mid-2010s Topps parallels were fun and different. I actually dig Gold Label autos—at least from 2018 and 2019, when the designs were good. It makes sense for a set with a gold theme to have some cards that are kinda sorta gold-plated.

And the Topps Transcendent base cards… I like them, especially considering how limited they are. Beyond that, though, it’s not as exciting to see the frames on Transcendent autos and other cards of that ilk.

Im a big fan of Museum Collection frames, the frames with the nice photos/artwork make them very nice and they are pretty high quality. Other products are just meh.

They’re heavy, take about a lot more space and require different supplies.

Pure metal cards are much nicer, but the grading lobby would never accept them.

I like the serial numbered rookie cards.

Most do not like them that much. If I sold all of mine, I wouldn't miss them.

I have several framed cards in my collection -- I like Transcendent, specifically.

I also have a card from Topps' first framed card release -- 2011 Marquee Museum Collection.

The Museum, Definitive and Gold Label frame cards I mostly don't care for.

They had a hologram background -- pretty cool.

I love them! Here are a few examples from the 2011 Marquee people mentioned and the traditional MC framed autos. I personally wish they kept the gold frames to just MC and hope they bring back Marquee gold framed autos. I think out of all the gold frames, the Gold Label brand are the cheapest ones.

The Posey because it's from 2011 Marquee and these were never done again or the Barry because its Barry. Either way, nice cards!

I didn't make my triumphant return to cards until around 2018 and when I first laid eyes on these framed cards I was disgusted with humanity. Not that I wasn't already disgusted with humanity, but this didn't help things. You framed collectors I put in the same league as card trimmers, patch swappers and counterfeiters.

Framed cards are fine as long as they are kept somewhat limited. I have some transcendent singles and they do look pretty nice. Also have some P70 AP's and the frame improves the overall appearance 100%. Knowing topps they will release a all framed version of flagship this year

I hate it. Gold frames are pure '80s cheese.

I agree with this 100$. It makes the high-end stuff they use them on look cheap.

I love Gold Framed Autos from Definitive and Museum Collection (add Silver Framed from MC too) because of the designs… However I’m not a fan of any Gold Label or any horizontal designs that Transcendent may have. I’ve got about a dozen Gold Frames cards, though I’d probably only miss the 2018 Definitive Purple /10 Ohtani Auto BGS quad 9.5. But I’m really only attached to about 5-6 of my cards if I sold them all, so that Ohtani is up there on my list of favorites
