At what point is it okay for us Heritage groupies to start getting nervous about the fact that, unless I’ve missed it, there has been absolutely nothing said/written/rumored about 23 Heritage?
I get that the lack of substantive info and pre-order options is probably going to be the new normal — it feels like their business model will take us away from that. Honestly, it always felt absurd to be getting “previews” of Heritage in September of the previous year. But it’s hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that, aside from Flagship, we’re sitting here on the Eve of Spring Training with absolutely no idea of what to expect from the release schedule this year. That’s a bizarre way of doing business, and not a good way of building buzz for new releases. I have to wonder if Fanatics is just trying to churn out the rest of the 2022 product and 2023 will be a re-set of sorts. How confident are we that Heritage will actually be a thing going forward? |

I will be sad if Heritage does not continue in its normal process.

I feel like they need to drop either Heritage or Archives because they are basically the same idea except Heritage focuses on 1 year and archives is usually 2 or 3. Personally I like archives better especially the veteran autos which I get aren't most peoples cup of tea but I like them and they are usually pretty cheap.
If they do keep Heritage going can we please just rename Heritage High and call it what it is which is heritage Update ? |

I wouldn't be nervous about them dropping one of their most popular products. This is simply the new normal. I'd expect Topps Heritage in mid March, like normal.
I also wouldn't be too upset if 2023 ended up as a reset, but it's not going to happen. Every 2023 release will get released. Let's just hope it's before the end of 2023 and we don't have any 2023 products releasing in July, 2024.

I just assumed 2023 Heritage would be released in late 2024.

Besides series 1
Is there any info on any other 2023 products yet ? As a heritage collector yes I am very aware of the product usually comes out now But I think topps has been so far behind they are trying to get organized for the future I would be shocked if they got rid of heritage |

I want a hard reset of heritage starting over with 1952 through 1956 in the original card size with the heritage logo omitted from the fronts.

Zero chance Heritage goes anywhere. I would love for them to push it back a month if thats what it takes to get fewer redemptions.

I think it’ll go till 1980 but ‘73 would be a natural stopping point as well.

This year's set ('74) design is drab and as basic as they come.

This. Total shift in thinking on announcing products. Probably partly due to uncertainty in long range release dates that end up ticking consumers off when there is a delay.

2022 Heritage had a lot of great photos. As the original sets steadily increase the action photo content, Heritage should get better and better.
Action images are great but a 100% action set (Topps Baseball / S1+S2) can get as boring as a 100% posed set. My favorite sets are a mix of Portrait, Posed, Candid, and Action images all scrambled together. A diversity of styles makes for a good set. Aside from the action shots in 2022, there were some other signs of improvement such as the Yankees cards finally being shot from somewhere outside, rather than from in front of the Press Box in the Tampa ST field. But there were also some continuing signs of laziness, such as cards created with completely fake backgrounds. |

To each their own, but I’ve always favored Heritage over Archives — by focusing on just one prior release year as the basis for the set, they can go a lot more in depth in some of the nuances that carry over from the original product. Some years they’ve made better use of those nuances than others. |

Agree. But in that case I’ll need to find another hobby of questionable value to fill up the month of March instead of wading through mountains of old-times looking cards…

Thanks for posting this. That’s exactly the sort of thing I was hoping might come out of this thread — evidence of production. But assuming he’s signing that whole box, my God, that’s a TON of real one autos!
