Question for the more experienced around here: In general, is there any dip in card value associated with a player getting traded from the team he was depicted with on his card? Or is it entirely team/case dependent?

It depends on what team they get traded to, many times a card spikes if they get traded to a team that has more of a following or maybe that player has a clearer path to playing time. If they get traded to a bad situation or bad team it can definitely drop as well. |

From my experience it is 99% team dependent. The bigger market teams have a premium attached no matter what other team was on the rookie card. However, if the player is legendary (Griffey, Jr., Brett for example) it doesn't really matter.

As noted above, team matters. Going to a bigger market will boost prices, going to a smaller market will drop prices (in the long run). In the short run (ie the few days after the trade) sales and prices will be strong in all but a handful of cases.
