Default Brady retires. . . Again. . .

Not the ending he wanted, but a hell of a career.

He shoulda walked off into the sunset after the TB Super Bowl win a couple of years ago...

Might still have his wife...

Was interesting to see that he included her on a few of his IG pictures, makes me wonder if they will reconcile.

45 was his goal. He’s a goal oriented guy.

He’s the Goat. But I can’t help but wonder if Mahomes will match or exceed Brady’s career total 7 rings?

He did the same thing last year also, don't hold your breath just yet. But with that said, he didn't have the same look out there this year. He didn't look happy, didn't look like he was having fun, didn't seem to be enjoying it at all. l think he may actually be done this time, unless SF comes calling. The tempt at one more serious SB run would play to his ego.

I said in the Brady thread, he had a horrible year(for him) and should have retired last year. He played like a middle of the pack QB this year

He was 18th in QBR and passer rating, yards/attempt was 30th, 3rd in yards, tied for 8th in TD's, 9th in completion percentage while leading his team to a 8-9 record, and getting blown out in the playoffs.

But last year, a near MVP season barely losing to the Super Bowl champs in the playoffs 30-27.

Yes, he's the greatest QB ever, but every athlete needs to hang it up at some point.

He had arguably his worst season but even then he made the playoffs with a bad oline, receivers who totaled a lot of drops this season, average at best rushing attack, and a defense that had a ton of injuries and mediocrity

Their Super Bowl year was the opposite. Great D, Fournette was doing his thing, WR weren’t messing up, and they had a great oline

I'm a Chiefs fan and love Mahomes, but the chances of this happening are like .0001%.

Rings come up for auction pretty often, he could easily end up with 10 or more if he really wanted to!

But a man like him…it’s all about goals. He’s goal oriented. For the longest time he’s said 45 was the magic number.

Couldn’t compete against the Desmond Ridder led Falcons. Makes sense.

He had a lot of distractions going on this year. Hard to be 100% locked in.

Really Mahomes has played only 5 or 6 seasons and been to 3 super bowls now. Plus there’s not many other elite teams in the NFL that can hang with the chiefs year after year. I feel like every year they’re going to be right in it like Brady always was

But I don’t want to turn this into a mahomes thread. I’m not even trying to pump mahomes

Brady > everyone

Which is the bigger news: Brady retiring again or Ozzy retiring from touring?

Mahomes still relies on his mobility a lot more than Brady to be as good as he is. That will slow down in a few years due to aging, injury etc... also the chiefs will not be able to have as strong of a supporting cast for him forever, for example what happens when Travis Kelce moves on, or Andy Reid retires from coaching. Lots of unknowns, I can see Mahomes winning 3 or 4 in his career, not 7 lol.
