Default Printing Plate Value

Are printing plates valuable at all if they belong to a player not top ranked? I have a Seattle Mariner (not that guy) and was wondering if plates are worth anything if they aren’t of the big time players.

Thoughts?

From what I have learned they arent that valuable due to how many there are. However I did spend a pretty penny on one just because the kid is from my hometown and I played football with his brother haha

Plates are usually worth between an orange /25 and a red /5 of the same player. So even most plates are worth at least $10.

Just curious but why not list the player you have? Feels like at least listing the player might catch interest from even the fringiest of player collectors or a Mariners team collector...

I didn’t know the name off the top of my head. Still not interested enough to go pull it out.

I had a printing plate of a Mariners player from 2020 Topps Chrome. I actually found the guy who was working on the rainbow of that player on Reddit, but he didn't want to pay more than $35 for it. I sat on it for a year and when I couldn't get back in touch with the guy from Reddit I threw it on eBay for $80 and it sold in 2 days.

I pulled the Frank Thomas 1/1 from a 2022 Gallery monster box this year. I have no idea of the value. I couldn’t really find any good comps.

I don’t know about most, but I am paying $400 for 2021 Topps Jose Ramirez plates.

It was a Kyle Seager plate and I put it up right after he retired. Embedded a video of his final goodbye in front of the crowd at Safeco in my auction listing just to tug on the heartstrings a bit.

Am I a monster?
