Really found his Shop-At-Home shtick to be entertaining back in the 90's (was even parodied on SNL). RIP.

Gonna be honest, I wasn't familiar with Don West the sports cards pitch man. I mostly know him from announcing for TNA Wrestling back in the day. Dude always had so much energy.

Rest In Peace, Don West. I really enjoyed watching him during the overnight and early AM hours.

Nothing better than late nights getting home from work and watching sports highlights (when ESPN actually showed them) to see who was winning the home run race between Sosa and McGwire. Then turn on Shop at home to see Don West screaming his head off about a "MARK McGWIRE ROOOOOKIE CARD" deal. I did enjoy watching him in TNA and purposely bought some of his autos back when they were in TNA sets. The guy is a legend.

I remember setting the vcr up to record shop at home from midnight to 2 am since I couldn’t stay up that long with high school the next day, haha. Felt weird recording shop at home, but it was so over the top ridiculous I had to watch, never bought a thing of course.

I'm actually kinda impressed with this deal. I thought Don West was always hawking horrible deals, but 10 bucks per factory set in 1991 was pretty dang solid. I feel like back then the 87 fleer and 87 Topps rookies, and the 89 fleer rookies were pretty hot commodities. Canseco, Bo Jackson, Will Clark, McGwire, etc., were all in pretty high demand. Maybe this video is from later and the great junk wax meltdown had already hit.

Yeah he looks 59 in that Pacific card from 2004. I watched and bought lots and lots of Peyton Manning autographs from Shop At Home. It's how I unwound late at night after my old hardcore band played a show earlier.

I remember seeing his schtick on the Shop at Home network back in the late 90s and found him to be very good at what he was doing, even though he was doing some pretty sketchy things from time to time like trying to sell off 1989 Coca-Cola Tarheels and 1992 Topps Archives Michael Jordan cards (the ones using the 1984 Topps design) like they were "rookies." I'm curious to know how many here would actually admit to calling in and ordering any of the stuff he was trying to sell.
