Why are people so high on this show? I mean it’s ok but certainly isn’t great. It’s basically Dallas with a little more violence

I mean the popularity of "Dallas", the show you cite, should answer the question.

Yup pretty much as you say. I watch it with my wife who really digs Kevin Costner.
But the real question is who wins in a bare knuckle corral scrap- Rip or Gerard?

I liked the first few seasons but then it just got repetitive. Each season is just someone new trying to take the ranch all over again. There will be a war, the Duttons will come out on top and nobody goes to jail for anything. Next season, rinse and repeat.

1893 was the #@#@#@#@ though.

The first few seasons were excellent.

The last season, and the start to this one, have been really bland. It's become a bit more artsy fartsy.

1893 Was phenominal, Yellowstone has no characters with any redeeming value to root for, yet I still watch it. It's not horrible, just a bit unbelievable at times.

1893 was great, too bad there wont be a season 2. 1923 is the next chapter i guess. I still wish there was more 1893 though.

I've never seen Yellowstone but 1883 was amazing. I'm so glad they left it at just a season instead of going for the money grab and destroying the essence of that 1 season.

I thought 1883 was having a 2nd season, but it wasn't going to be the same storyline?

They’ll be doing 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, about the US Marshal who might have been the inspiration for The Lone Ranger.

And they’re jumping forward to 1923, premiering in mid-December, starring Harrison Ford (playing the brother of Tim McGraw’s character from 1883), and plan 2 seasons of that. Then potentially 2 more prequel spinoffs spanning the family history in the 1900s.

I've never watched it but I imagine it has a huge female following due to the character "Rip".

Also saw a possible 6666 ranch spinoff?

I never realized that James Dutton was Tim McGraw. Wow, he was a great actor in that show. Played the role to perfection.
