Default All-Encompassing September 2022 "Streaks and Feats" Discussion Thread

It feels like there's so much exciting happening in baseball right now ... I just wanted to bring it all into one place.

Aaron Judge - sits at 54 HRs, needs 8 more to break Maris' Yankee record (and, some would say, true MLB record)

Albert Pujols - sits at 695 career HRs ... can he get to 700 HR?

Zac Gallen - 41.3 consecutive scoreless inning streak (record is Hershiser, 59 IP)

Framber Valdez - 23 consecutive quality starts (record is deGrom, 26 QS)

Which of these will happen, and which will not? I can't wait to find out!

P.S. Let me know if I'm missing anything else exciting ...

Judge - Yes
Pujols - No (I want this one this most, though)
Gallen - No
Framber - Yes

Just gut feelings. Should be fun to watch!

I think Judge for sure. But none of the others. I really wanted Pujols to get to 700 but just not enough time.

Judge - Probably; however, the walks are likely to pile up soon as the rest of the order is poop.
Pujols - No, unfortunately. I just want 697.
Gallen - No, but that would be insane. It's a borderline "unbreakable" record.
Valdez - Probably.

Waino and Yadi are 2 away from the all time battery record.

Max Scherzer win 200

Tied for the lead now. One away from owning the record outright. It has been a race for me this year and I received my 2014 Molina gold today, so I’ll call it a tie. This is the complete run of Wainwright and Molina gold flagship excluding LL, AS, & CL except for the 2022 CL that seemed to complete it. I overpaid for a few of the Molinas, but I picked up the PSA 10 at my LCS in Jan/Feb of 2020, just before things got crazy, for $50 raw, so not a crazy amount to complete this.

I HATE the Cardinals, but that is cool as hell. Idk what Cubs connection I could even want to do like that with any teammates, let alone a battery.

It was a good run for Gallen. 7th longest scoreless streak of all time, and a Diamondbacks team record.

last week was the 3 year anniversary of the last time a team scored 4 earned runs of Jacob DeGrom

Of course he missing over a season and 102 games getting wiped off another season make the accomplishment a little less impressive.

Framber continues the streak, now two shy of the all-time consecutive QS record.

I put this in the main Aaron Judge thread yesterday ... with an OPS+ of 205, Judge would become the first AL player since Mickey Mantle (1961) to post an OPS+ of 205 or higher in a full season. (Frank Thomas posted a 212 in the strike-shortened 1994 season.)

My only issue with this record is you can get pulled after 5 innings, 0 runs 10 K's with a hi pitch count and big lead and not have it be considered a quality start. If you were to just look at consecutive starts allowing 3 ER or less, DrGom has an active steak of around 38 I think. No idea if that is the record, but whatever the record is I'm sure he'll break it

I thought BO had declared Trout's career finished a few weeks ago.
