Default Tribute to the 1972 Miami Dolphins 17-0 Season

Hard to believe its been 50 years ago!

Thought I would see how many autographs of that team I could get but wanted it to be rookie cards of the players that were on the 1972 team and have 17-0 on it, I was able to get 12 of them to sign through the mail, Howard Kindig didn't put 17-0 on the card, I'm thinking because his rookie card is the chargers but did put it on a blank card. A couple of them added a card of their own. Charlie Babb doesn't have a card but on the back of the 1973 Topps semi-final game card he is mentioned on the back of the scoring summary, punt block recovered for a touchdown.

Found a few on Ebay, the Jake Scott card doesn't have 17-0 but he has the MVP of the Super Bowl.

Kind of surprised I haven't found Jim Langer 1973 topps with 17-0, Larry Csonka 1969 topps, or Garo Yepremian 1971. How cool would it be to find a Earl Morrall 1957 topps rookie card with 17-0!

Very cool project. I once sent a card to Earl Morrall to sign and he sent it back with the card saver signed instead of the card. One of my favorite TTMs.

That's cool! You're one step closer to making your own acetate Morrall auto card .

I have a few signed 72 dolphins cards, but not sure if they are rookies. I def have a ball signed by Morral, Mira, and others. This is a really cool set. Wasn't Seiple a punter? I think my card has him listed as one.

Thanks!

Looks like Seiple was the punter but would also play on the offense some too. Had a big fake punt against the Steelers playoff game in 1972.

A lot of things had to go right for them to go unbeaten for the season, even survived when Griese was out for a few weeks.

Great collection! So a little story: I ordered about 10 1972 wax packs from BBCE and wanted to rip half. Before I did, I pressed the top and had a Unitas, O.J Simpson and some "back" from the Dolphins. For some reason I couldn't think of who it could be, so I put it in the rip pile......I was such an idiot....

Love it.

I was at one of the home games that season - too young to remember anything, sadly.

Amazing that all these years later they are still the only undefeated team in NFL history (I was rooting HARD for the Patriots to lose the year they almost did it).

Thanks everyone.

If anybody hears of Larry Csonka doing a signing would like to get his 1969 card signed with 17-0.

He has a website, and is also on Twitter. Have you tried contacting him directly?

Keep an eye on Tristar's shows, as well as the National.

These kinda autograph projects are so cool!! Good luck. Wonder who are toughest signers on that team has cards. Sure been many 72 dolphins reunion shows have happened in hobby. Gotta get those guys while you still can.

I checked through Larry Csonka's website about getting his autograph on a card and they responded back they don't offer it. They said to just keep checking if he does a signing somewhere. Didn't sound like anything was planned in the near future.
