Rainbow chasing...the frustration of not having the 1/1

Does it bother anyone else a bunch when you have the rainbow, but only missing the 1/1? I have several Miggy rainbows, but missing the 1/1 and it bugs me when I look at my beautiful collection, knowing it's not "actually complete." Some might call it hoarding and ridiculous, I call it trying to achieve success-haha

Just curious what others thing of that lost 1/1.

Think it's much worse why you have the 1/1 and can't find a /5! Darn 2019 bowman draft sapphire Dane Dunning red

Agree. I chase rainbows. I dont chase 1/1's. Some are just simply unobtainable. Cant get mad if I didn't have a chance to begin with.

I can confirm this! Especially since I whiffed twice on trying to buy it.

I also have a 2019 Marco Sterling rainbow except for the super. That one doesn't bother me so much.

I don't consider 1/1 part of the rainbow. We get to make our own collecting rules.

As an obsessed completionist………it drives me completely crazy when I can’t get the 1/1 to complete the rainbow. I have 5 fully completed McClanahan rainbows through the 1/1 but have another 3-4 that I need 1/1’s or other rare cards to complete. I run searches constantly and try to find the ones I’m missing.

I would tell myself that if the /1 ever becomes available I will do everything possible to purchase it.

Life doesn't give us everything we want. It is all about doing our best no matter what that is.

This. Only when I have the Super of something do I even consider an attempt at a rainbow. I've made three ever and I'm working on a 4th right now and have yet to see the red refractor auto (2021 Topps Stadium Club Chrome Nate Pearson Auto).

I usually try to, but sometimes deals come up for the lower #'d, and I figure, what the heck, then never see the 1/1...or what's worse, the 1/1 shows up on eBay and seller keeps it for sale for years refusing to budge on unreasonable price. For example- one of the cards I need is listed for $1K- patch/no auto. I bought the /3 for $45. I offered $110, which is above and beyond- even sent a message about willing to negotiate - no response from seller, auto decline offer

There are a couple rainbows I’m doing where it isn’t the 1/1 that’s missing. Missing a /5 or /10 feels more frustrating for some reason.

I have yet to look up in the sky and see a color in a rainbow that is some weird goldlike color with circles in it.

got you beat, i have the 1/1 i'm missing the /25 seen one copy in the wild and the person wants 10x what i paid for the /10. not a chance in h3ll will i pay that. 1 of the other 24 have to to show up right? (i have two of the /10's)
