2022 Chronicles Draft Picks FOTL

Got all the way to the bottom ($150) and didn't sell out in the 5 minute window. First time that's happened in quite a while.

Speaks highly to where the market is currently.

$150 floor, I decided to pick up a few, figured why not, I like that a few products this week all hit the floors. Maybe there is some self correction coming (I know false optimism)

Last time I remember a FOTL product not selling out in that time window was 2019 Contenders Football. Panini then relisted 2019 Contenders for $200 a box. Wonder if that will happen with this one?

I don't think it's false optimism, I think it's actually correcting...and quicker than people think.

I picked up 3 for fun to open. Last year I think the bottom was $250 so at least these were $100 "cheaper".

I think in this case it's more about this product specifically than the general market. Lots of people and likely the big 3 lost money on the 2021 FOTL NBA version of this so didn't want a repeat with NFL.

Was watching the Panini Dutch Auction and can't say I was surprised it hit the floor of $150 (started at $600). The FOTL "bonus" was on cracked ice parallel, and doesn't look like it was #'d. I Know a lot of ppl like to disparage the college uni cards, but I like to have some in my collection and Chronicles at least bypasses all the vets and sticks to all rookies. Nevertheless, with the down draft class and the junk Chronicles draft was last year, I held off on pulling the trigger even at the floor. I can say that I was very happy to see if hit the floor though and hope that will be more of a common thing moving forward.

Only thing this product has going for it is it's the 1st 2022 Panini football release. If it released when last years Chronicles FOTL did it would be worthless. There were still 2 much better buys this week alone you could buy in mass quantities. With how little interest I've seen in anyone outside of Kenny Pickett so far, 2022 football collegiate products are gonna be tough.

This release had nothing to do with prices correcting. 2022 should be selling for less than half it's 2021 counterpart. You can get boxes of 2021 Chronicles Draft FOTL for $300. When the releases people want come up I highly doubt BO prices anywhere near according to market. If say 2022 Prizm football hobby should be $600 they will price it $1,000+.

Since Panini waits forever to post a checklist - Do you think they will have NIL players like the other companies have already out ?

This hit the floor because the 2022 draft class is potentially all time bad. I mean in terms of card value for rookies. I do like the potential of the lineman but they’re worthless as football cards. That’s why this hit the floor.

And it doesn’t feature NIL players like Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Bijan Robinson, etc. if it had those players this would NOT have hit the floor I can promise you.

of course NIL players have to have the logo air brushed off anyway making the card less desirable -- Not sure why these other companies just dont take photos without the helmet on to avoid that nasty 1970s look

are you sure? if they are at a college that panini has license for, they should be able to use logos

I missed the auction on Panini's website. I noticed BO has 2022 Chronicles Draft Picks Hobby boxes (non-FOTL) for $149 a box on pre-order. Given the weaker draft class this year, do we think the price would still move up past this?

Last season I purchased Contender's Draft and Prizm Draft (retail only, hobby was out of budget) . But I just can't get behind the look of Prizm this year (personal preference). The Chronicles atleast looks like it could be fun to rip with kids.

Given FOTL didn't sell out at $150 I don't think you need to worry about Hobby going up after release. More likely it will drop to $120-130 range.

Thank you! I will probably hold out here a bit and see what plays out in that case. If FOTL becomes available at $150 again (doubt it), I might go for one. I never purchased a FOTL product before. I would give it a go once, though given the description, I suspect it isn't worth much more than a small premium this year.

Seeing early cards posted on eBay and it appears that Contenders Draft Picks will be in this set and not be it's own release. Kind of disappointing because I was a fan of the Contenders Draft Picks set as its own release but that's just the way she goes.
