2021-22 Prizm FOTL

FOTL Dutch auction coming next Tuesday. Price starts at $2800 with a floor of $1100. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but that’s actually a reasonable range for this product. Obviously it would be a steal if it gets near the floor, but I definitely don’t see it getting anywhere close to that. Probably “sells out” over $2K.

Agreed. With how poorly everything has been moving this year for breakers i feel like they're going to go hard at prizm to try and get some dollars back.

The big boy breakers are doing fine, the smaller ones are starting to feel the pain.

I know we might have seen higher prices in the past two years so that this feels a bit better but this is still much, much higher than what I would consider normal.

This. A lot of the smaller guys have been having a really hard time moving stuff and having to skip products completely.

I’m guessing they do a bloated base set checklist like they did for football.

BO has hobby for $1900, so definitely won’t get below that.

What's hilarious is when the hobby was basically the absolute hottest last year 2020-21 Prizm Basketball FOTL sold out at the floor of $2,000. If the floor was $1,500 probably woulda sold out at $1,500. Yet with most stuff ice cold right now the price manipulators will make sure this dutch auction of 21-22 Prizm FOTL "sells out" at $1700-$1900. Between the current market and the sky high FOTL box print run with no manipulation it would hit the floor or 1 drop above.

Between box prices and stores starting to do some shaddy stuff (LCS by me was only selling Father's Day packs, not giving them away with purchases) it makes it so much easier to buy singles or just save my money for other things. So dirty.

Prices of wax have to start coming down. With the way singles prices are falling, sealed wax can’t sustain.. The economy is headed for a cliff and people who have lots of expendable income can see that..

considering prizm last year with ant and lamelo free fell out of the gate all the way down to 1000-1100, how can they think this warrants anything near 2k+. took a long while for 2020 prizm to get back to where it is now

They actually pushed this back too. It was supposed to come out Tuesday, and Panini never announced any changes or anything, they just updated the clock on their website.

This is gonna be a test for where the market is right now. Offseason, not a lot of hype, meh rookie class.

I still expect big retailers and breakers to come out and pick this up to keep prices afloat. Sellout at just under 2k IMO.

Amazingly Hobby Box preorder prices getting removed right before FOTL drops. The price was around $1500-1800 so I'd expect it to "end" around the lower part of the range.

Yep, at least it's now in the open. It's been happening for a while with different releases in different sports:

- Come up with a high presale price
- Take down product just before FOTL
- Put back product 1-2 days after FOTL ended, at around the same price
