I listen to Mojobreak and Card Talk weekly. For vintage I enjoy Golden Age of Cardboard.

Definitely not the one where the dork hosts make fun of the listeners and brag about their Rolexes the whole time

Sports Card Nonsense is fun but they’ve been losing me lately with F1, NFT and celebrity card talk. When they stick to baseball, basketball, football and just goofing around, it’s a really fun listen.

SCN can be a good pod for some people. People who have a broad interest in collecting different spots. I gave up on SCN a while back though. On top of too much F1, NFT, and celebrity, they don’t even really like baseball. Sports Boi doesn’t care much for spots in general. I think Mike keeps him around because their friends, and I don’t think Mike wants someone on the show who would disagree with him on his takes/opinions on cards.

And you're right about Sports Boi: He wouldn't know Juan Soto from Roberto Clemente. But, for me, that's OK, because he doesn't hide his lack of knowledge. If he were trying to offer expert opinions on sports or sports cards, yeah, that would be a turnoff, but the podcast embraces his little sports knowledge. |

I love SCN, but I'm biased because John and I are friends in real life. I feel like Pack To The Future Podcast is a great one. It's basically Sports Cards Nonsense but they actually talk about sports cards and it's actually funny.

PCSportscards always dropping knowledge bombs like Hiroshima. Other fave channels that cover baseball specifically like Rydog, Lets talk wax, Stryker Breaks, LSU Maniac, Philmington, etc
My guilty pleasures are SCR, ZiggyNo, AIH and any other channel that calls out bullshat in the hobby |

I listen to Dr. Beckett's show called Sports Card Insights, Wax Pack Hero, Sports Card Nation, and the Flagship Baseball Card Show.
My favorite though is Golden Age of Cardboard, but I am biased because I am the host of the show. LOL Thanks to you guys who mentioned it in comments above.

Most are fairly terrible. I come at the hobby from the light investing side. I do kind of wis there could be more shows who talk about prospecting and do not make it feel like a get rich quick scheme. For me there’s a joy of getting a prospect for cheap watching that prospect and market develop. That’s fun to me.

I collect a narrow band of players in a narrow date range. He happens also to be a 90s card fan which is why I think I gravitate towards his pods. But I don’t personally enjoy prospecting or flipping. Regardless, I think he’s by far the best resource for that kind of analysis. He has found a way to weave his love for cards into his job which is to improve the platform that he works on and is the engine for the company that employs him. The better he makes that platform, the more it makes sense that folks pay for it, but he genuinely enjoys the statistics and technical aspect of his job. I don’t get enough out of these pay platforms in terms of the guy I collect but if I ever did, I would subscribe. But his analysis is free and he’s not pushy. He’s authentic. What do you think?

I don't care for recent pick ups, mail days, PSA reveals, etc. Those often feel like a look at me, look at what I have kind of thing.
I'd rather learn about the cards. Educate me on a card or a set. Tell me why that's important, the story behind the image, the design used on that set, the history behind the player, why is it rare, have collector's views changed on that set over time... It doesn't have to be a HOF player, or even a key card in the set Vintage and pre-war is great, but I also enjoy some 90s inserts. There are so many great cards and stories to be told. There's always more to learn, and that's one of the things I enjoy about the hobby. Golden Age of Cardboard is good, and the series by decade was fun to watch. Vintage Card Curator does some good videos. Dr Beckett is always good. If Rich Klein is on, such as Hobby Hotline, he always has a depth of knowledge to share. Just about baseball itself - John Bawden has some good history. Don's Field of Dreams with the look at negro league players. There are lots of good choices, and maybe not every vid is for you, but a variety of input is good too. Sometimes it's just keeping tabs on recent hobby news and to hear stories, so I also check out Bowman53, Baseball Card Collector Investor Dealer, Sports Card Dad, Sports Cards Anonymous... and I know I'm leaving out some. |
