So valuable he's on the bench vs GS at the end of the game

Personally I think Joel and Luka were more deserving this year but I don't get a vote.

Woj is such a bum. Everyone already knew this; and this 'leak' offers no voting totals or new information.

I'll wait to see if Jokic cleared 70 1st place votes when the NBA releases the official notice.

Jokic slayed the advanced stats. Not even close.

I feel like this was Giannis award but Jokic is still a solid selection.

Would be wild to see him go for a 3rd straight MVP especially once reinforcements comes in next season.

Easy decision to those that don't view the game in a vacuum.

Let the bitching commence.

Giannis was MVP IMO but when you are considered the best player on earth in basketball you are expected now to go God mode to win the MVP.

76er's have a much stronger supporting case than the Nuggets. TBH it's a huge accomplishment just getting the Nuggets to the PO's.

As the playoffs have evolved... it's clear to me who the MVP truly is. From an impact and leadership perspective, Embiid is the guy.

- Hits an insane game winner at Toronto to silence the crowd and puts up a couple massive games.
- Playing through a torn thumb ligament, nasty concussion, and broken face and still has a massive impact.
- Since Embiid's return in Game 3, Sixers have made the #1 seed Heat look like the Sixers without Embiid. His presence alone has completely changed the dynamic of the series.

Alas the MVP is a regular season, stat-centric award. Embiid certainly has the better supporting cast subsequent to offloading Ben Simmons.

It was a close race at the top for sure! Congrats to Mr. Joker

Honestly should be two awards...

-Most outstanding Performer
-Best Player on the Planet

Name them whatever you want.

Jokic was statistically the best player this regular season. He deserved MVP by current voting standards. But the best player on the planet each year hasn't been awarded the MVP trophy since 2012-13 since LeBron won with the Heat.

Jokic, Embiid and Giannis all had strong arguments to be made. This is one of those years where any of the three would have been an acceptable outcome.

If Jokic, Giannis or Embiid didn’t play this year what would their teams records be? Would any of them make the playoffs?

I was told LaMelo is a superstar. Where did he end up in the vote count?

Who was the best player in 2019-20 if not Giannis?

That's the main reason we can't have the award. You can't justify giving it to someone that hasn't win an MVP in almost a decade.

Well-Deserved! To take that Nuggets roster to a 6th Seed out West with his second-best player being Aaron Gordon/Will Barton at the moment is one hell of a job. Advanced stats show he's in a category of his own. For example, Jokic's VORP (Value over Replacement Player) is 9.8, with Giannis second at 7.4. To put things into perspective, only 5 players in the entire league have a VORP over 5.0, and most of the league falls anywhere between 0 and 2.0.

I absolutely love Giannis and Embiid, but I think Jokic has been the most valuable. Amazing seasons for all three!

You really could not go wrong with Embiid, Joker, or Giannis. If any of those 3 had won they would have deserved it.

It would have still been LeBron.

He was second in MVP voting (regular season) and ended up Finals MVP.

Both played the Heat that Playoffs and LeBron outplayed Giannis. And you know I love Giannis. But at that point there were holes in his game that he improved on the next year.

There is a 5x NBA Champ that only won 1 NBA MVP so I don't really put too much in the award. And I'm quite sure, he should be a MVP candidate every year. I think Embiid should of won it. I think Ohtani should win MVP this year, not last year
