Default I'll have to find this because

this is just awesome!
I'd love to find a copy of this ad, photograph it, send in a high res photograph to a printer & have a 30x40 canvas printed of this ad. Just wow! I love this!

That is awesome!

It’s been maybe 10 years ago when I saw a new book that was all about baseball and advertising. For whatever reason at the time I didn’t buy it and regret it.. Unfortunately I don’t even know what it was called, but I haven’t put too much effort into fingering it though. Old sports advertising is so interesting especially baseball.

Interesting that the Connie Mack All Star card of Christy Mathewson has rounded corners instead of square corners. They must have changed their mind on that design when they printed them.

that is really cool, it would be interesting to find out what magazine this would have come in to at least narrow down a possible search.

The cards were targeted to kids so maybe in a comic book or a kids magazine of the time?

I can maybe help.

I used to manage a FedEx/Kinkos (yea, I know lol) and what was REALLY cool about working there was the ability to print out literally anything we wanted. Posters, Tshirts, oversized posters etc. All you would need is the image. Now the downside to that, is that we were not allowed to print copyrighted material. So people would come in with all different type of things, but if there is a trademark or copyright symbol, we were not allowed to print it. The customer could use the standard printers to do so, but we could not assist.

With that being said, we also had a special machine that printed large size posters. I think that if you brought this image in (just bring a thumb drive usb) to kinkos, they could print out as small or big of a copy as you need. You can even choose the type of paper/canvas you wanted. I dont see any copyright logos, so you should be fine.

One of the coolest things I used to do is get the best art pieces and then print them out on canvas and frame them. So cool!

anyway, hope this may help

P.S. Should cost under 20$

Looks like it was posted on twitter in 2015 from an account that posts what seem to be legitimate vintage ads, so Im leaning towards it could have been a real ad. Looks to be a vending ordering form for shops, sort of like sell sheets nowadays.

Someone on Twitter mentioned that they thought it could be from a trade magazine.

Sell sheets nowadays always have that little fine print at the bottom, "Images and cards subject to change" because companies routinely change from pre-production design....guess back then they didnt need that fine print!

Thanks for the insider insights.

For this one, given the original image is quite small, would you recommend printing on something rougher - like canvas or textured card - to hide the lack of resolution?
