Default Question - Hit a big card in low-end break and ebay seller goes silent...

This has happened to me once before...

I hit a big card in a low end break from a breaker with decent feedback but certainly not a major name.

The last time this happened with a different breaker I got upset and contacted ebay and left negative feedback and they cancelled the sale before shipping.

This time I want the card. I have sent two message after two days of waiting for shipping updates with no contact.

First message: Could I send additional paypal to upgrade shipping?

Second message: Or however you want to ship it, just let me know when it goes out, thanks!

What is my next move? Wait it out? Contact ebay after a certain amount of time? Contact him personally?

I have recorded the break, the sale, the payment, etc. Know his name and where he lives.

If things go south I'm going to pursue all of my options but I don't want it to get to that.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Too early for that but if I don't hear anything in 2 or 3 days it will be coming...

I’m afraid you just got to wait and see. Seller won’t lose much by cancelling and keeping the big hit. Kind of like seller remorse. Similar to when a seller sells a card for less than market value and then cancelling and relisting the card at a higher price.

OP, yes please share the name of your breaker if they don't respond or cancel the order.

Has the shipping time gone beyond the sellers stated handling time?

Doesn't have handling time, says delivery by April 5th. Funny thing is normal breakers upload shipping details within 24 hours, most within 12 hours. And they will all respond to messages...

This person has an LLC. I have his address and name. He has had feedback saying "no communication, shipped after 8 days". Overall feedback of 99 2% 10,000+. I'm thinking he tries to wait the big hits out to see if they will cancel the order or flip out so he can cancel.

When was the break? I’d give it at least a few days to let them sort the cards and pack it up before bothering to ask for any updates.

I understand you don't want to tell the breakers name but why not make thread when you can mention the breaker's name. To early to name the breaker to early to make the thread.

Dude, relax. You’re probably getting your cards. Give the person time to sort all the cards and such. Seems your impatience may have cost you whatever card you hit last time when the seller cancelled. I think most people would’ve cancelled if you left negative feedback like that.

Grab a couple beers, relax, and watch March Madness….

Agreed; just because the majority of breakers do something, doesn't mean the one you bought from has to. Wait until the guy sends the cards. If he doesn't within a week, then file a police report for theft in the value of the cards that were not delivered.

Doesn’t matter if you have his name or address. You can’t do anything if they cancel the order and refund your money. Previous feedback regarding slow shipping and no communication could be another flag. Best of luck to you !

This is not a true statement at all.

Some do this. Most? Not even close.

...if it helps, there are a great many high volume reputable breakers that take several days to upload shipping and send everything out. It's actually pretty normal.

Always worried about this, but that would essentially be stealing at that point. This is not really the same as.cancelling any old sale.

If you can't name the breaker what was the card?

If you have a recording of the break then I'd say you have little to worry about.

Keep in mind that not everyone is spending night and day on sports cards. People have families, jobs, relatives, health, etc. You sent an email about upgrading shipping. If he/she doesn't reply in two days I'd resend it and then I'd wait.

If previous feedback says this is a slow shipper then you knew that upfront and no reason to expect something different. IF after two weeks you haven't received information nor a reply then I'd contact ebay and let them know you have a video of the break and you want your card.

I'm not familiar with "breaking", but I assume you paid upfront for whatever cards you'd get from the break. If so, then you are on solid legal ground as the card is legally yours and assuming you can explain how breaking works to a small claims court judge (along with your video) I'd expect you would easily win a small claims court case seeking damages in the amount of the value of the card.

Good luck

That just isn't true in the slightest.

What's your ebay ID? I don't break but a 12 hour shipping info is ruthless. Let me just make sure you are never capable of buying anything from me.

It's implausible on its face.

Even Breakers like Houdini Can take a week or more to ship. Firehands just took a week for one of my breaks. Very Few breakers ship that fast. Most are in 3 to 5 days if you are lucky. Just relax and let it play out. I know you are nervous because you got burned before, but give it a chance. April 5th is 10 days away dude. Chances are if he ships by the 1st you will have it the 5th. So...what was the card!!!
