At first glance, the A&G logo stands out too much for me.
I do love the “Pitching a Gem” (Ohtani) pictured in the article though.

First impressions:

-Ew on the borders and gradient
-Meh on the correlated puns with the inserts
-Happy to see DNA and Fossil relics return!

Going to have to consult Google to see who shares my birth month.

Long shot but I'd love this!

Really loving the typography this year and the colors! The Inside the Park mini inserts look amazing. Nitpick is I don't understand the design choice of the raised border on the cards but everything else looks amazing and fun.

Meh....every year's design looks the same....product should have been retired ten years ago.

Seriously....is there a single person who can tell the difference between a 2009 A&G card and a 2019 A&G card without looking at the back?

Initial reaction is that I'm not a huge fan of the half border design, but it fits with their theme of slight changes to the design year over year. I'll grow on me

I sure hope the inside the park set features America's National Parks. Definitely something I have been looking for.

I hope they add some of the eccentric subjects to the base set so we can search for parallels. The last several years have been weak on the base set checklist.

I feel the design works so much better on the minis than it does the base

Inserts are beautiful, they really killed it with the Sandwich Subset

Definitely NOT too much Meat on that Hoagie

The aesthetic of Allen & Ginter continues to fall short of the lofty bar set in the releases from 10+ years ago. Granted I'm incredibly biased being a 2012 supercollector, but if I ever had to venture out into other years, I'd only be looking at those that came before it. I just don't think these recent sets hold a candle to the earlier ones in that regard, and obviously that's completely subjective.

A common debate at my work is whether a hot dog is a sandwich or not. My guess is that there'll be similar debates once the set releases about it's worthiness. I just wish they had numbered parallels of insert cards in non-poster form...
