Default How can I protect this 1911 Mecca Double Folders?

I have a 1911 Mecca Double Folders T201 Christy Mathewson, as you can see fairly fragile. I'd love to "protect" it for the next 100+ years and really would liked it slabbed. SGC already rejecting slabbing it due to the fragile nature of the card.

Anyone have any ideas or help?

Cardsaver IV?
Long screwdown holder?
Thin tallboy toploader?

And since it's already in poor condition, maybe pasting it to a backing or lamination to strengthen it?

These cards measure 2 1/4" by 4 11/16" according to a quick search. The interior size of the tallboy toploader is 2 3/4" x 4 7/8". That should work with a tall boy penny sleeve if the card is still intact.

Yup it’s all one piece yet, just extremely fragile on the bottom crease.

I'm in the Boca Cards Sub group and fragile cards come up in question all the time, they basically won't encapsulate a card they are afraid won't withstand is what I understand.

Yeah I tried SGC, I wonder if Beckett or CSG would?

Obvious question but have you sent to PSA?

I have not, I am thinking I might do them next (PSA) and just select to get it authenticated and not graded and hope they slab it.

PSA is very gunshy about fragile cards. I doubt it. You'll just waste shipping costs back and forth and get it back in the cardsaver.

I sent the Walter Johnson/Street card from this set to PSA last year and it was partially torn at the seam. It came back a 2, if that helps.

Just got it back from BVG, I decided to go that route and I'm super stoked with the results. Slabbed and protected.....
