Default Fair market value of rare 1998 Derek Jeter Card

I came across this in a collection.

It's a 1998 Donruss Preferred Prized Collections Derek Jeter #726.

It's a huge 750 card set of all their base sets done up with a chrome finish. The Prized collection is basically their version of the refractor.

The higher number cards are very limited and although there's no serial $ on it, the stated print run is 55 copies.

Donruss Preferred Prized Collections odds 1:51

A Ripken sold for $300 from this set.

Any idea of the value?

That's a big card, even with the print line. Many Jeter collectors will want that. You may want to look into getting it graded before selling, because that is gonna get you some $$$.

I almost had a master set of this, and can tell you that the Prized Preferred has less than 55 of each card produced. I was 11 cards shy of all 750 prized. This is the Power card, so doesn't hold as high a value as his #559 card. But still an easy $250-$400 card.

Great find!

That would kill me being that close and not completing it.

FWIW, this card isn’t the primary/best Jeter of the Prized Preferred set, important to note when making comps.

For about 2 years I could find nothing, then one guy had 3 of the cards I needed (2 Thomas's & Griffey). His prices were just too high, so I passed. He contacted me later on and offered to purchase my collection. We worked up a good deal and I made out.

Sad part, found out he pieced out the prized collections and sold the other 3 subsets (Donruss/Leaf/Elite) which were complete. Might have been a dealer looking to flip, don't know.

BTW, gave up in 2017 on the set.

Last one sold for $550 @ auction back in April. I'd list it at $1,000 obo, nice find!

Buy It Now w/ best offer would be good. It would be nice though if you found a couple set builders and a Jeter collector going at it in an auction though also.
How are all the corners on this one? I wonder if this one might be a good candidate for getting graded.
