Fans throwing jerseys on the ice.
Draisaitl going at it with an idiot reporter. No goaltending at all. McDavid goalless in his last 4 games and only 3 goals in his last 13 games. Haven’t won a game in 2022. How long before McDavid wants out? Last edited by JeremyNick; 01-22-2022 at 02:14 PM. |

Remember they were cup contenders at 9-1 and 16-5.
Dominating the league. This is the year...lol You're never as good or as bad as you look. |

Mcdavid wanting out is stupid...he plays 23 minutes and can't score a goal.. who's fault is that?

Man, 3 straight posts from k13 within minutes. Guy is on cloud nine.
Anyway, the Tippett experiment needs to end and they need to acquire a goalie. Frankly, Holland has botched this thing pretty badly so he should be shown the door as well. When McDavid and Drai aren't playing out of their minds, this is what you get. The depth is absolutely pathetic. |

Not having Smith to backstop them has been a disaster this year. With that said, Koskinen did well at the beginning of the year but the whole team was playing well so that shielded him as well. Koskinen is probably done in the NHL after this year but who knows. It is surprising that the 'whole' team just can't get anything going their way. As a life long Oilers fan, I come to expect the worst every season & I'm rarely surprised.
As for the Calgary game tonight, I expect a true battle of Alberta as all the frustrations will certainly (or should be) coming out tonight. Probably going to see a lot of penalty minutes since Tkachuk knows exactly which buttons to press when it comes to the Oil. Should be fun to watch! |

McDavid is goalless in 4 games, not 8. He sat out some for COVID.

They have depth...RNH, Puljujarvi, Hyman, Yamamoto,
Bouchard, barrie, nurse, keith, ceci, That's better than most other teams. Look at LA and Anaheim rosters...they are terrible. Troy terry is your leading scorer then a rookie then Sonny Milano... ![]() Everything is the Oilers players fault for now winning. I'm sure they'll get on a winning streak again. That's how it works. But excuses that they don't have the players is pathetic. Talking about depth while McDavid/Draisaitl play all the minutes...how can other players even do anything.. |

I hated seeing Hyman leave Toronto but I knew he'd do good there, which he has/did, up until this current slump. Tyson has been underachieving, especially compared to last year, and I think that is also a reflection on Tippet, to an extent? Bottom line, you can't fire the whole team so why not try a new coach? They need fresh ideas, a fresh voice and a different approach, and, until that happens, not much is going to change.

Without Leon and Connor on the ice, the Oilers have been outscored 41 to 22 at 5 on 5.

What hasn't been said in the last 6 years that would be any different than today?

Ken Holland was a good GM, in the pre cap NHL. He was terrible in his last few years in Detroit, not overly surprised by what is going on in Edmonton. The whole management group needs removed, probably still will take years to dig out of the mess.

I mean they Hired Ken Holland.....he's not good.
Yes I know he was year for all the Cups and the playoff streak but consider that for the majority of that time there were A LOT of things propping him up. -No salary cap+owner willing to write blank checks -Best coach in the game telling him what palyer to go and send the blank check too. -After Bowman leaves....he still had Jim Nill in the front office, and later Yzerman. -After Nill goes to Dallas and Yzerman goes to Tampa, the Wings weren't very competitive and Kenny kept trying to trade for players (DAvid Legwand anyone?)for draft capital just to get into the first round and lose. I've not seen him do anything in Edmonton to make me reconsider he's good at his job. |

See my reply a few posts down. I don't think he was a good GM, or at least ever a good evaluator. I think it was all Scotty Bowman, and then Later Nil and Yzerman.

That reporter who got on Draisaitl's nerves is a well known total douchebag.
Only worse media in NHL is in Toronto. |

The two biggest problems are the poor defense for the Oilers and the lack of scoring depth. Penalty killing right now is poor too. McDavid and Draisailt need to play a more two-way game to prevent goals. Draisailt has been known to play poor defense at times, which led to Oiler's losses.

That was a big, much needed win for them last night!
When I heard how many players were out due to various reasons, I never expected this outcome. I wanted to watch it but couldn't stay awake, unfortunately, but I assume it was a heck of a game?

Flames defending hauled down to create wining goal. Lame.
Leave it to the flames to blow it against the lowly oilers. |

Pretty sure Harnarayan Singh‘s yelling and screaming during the Oilers telecast is throwing the team off.
